To be honest I see Fraser as another midfileder of the type we have loads of - defensive minded and a good tackler.
What we need is an attack minded midfielder who is a good passer.
One went inches wide (even the best strikers in the world miss chances like that) the other the keeper made a very good save.
How many scoring positions did the other players get into all day?
Agreed.
Yet in a game in which he was poor he still lokked the most likely to score a goal.
I think he is a quality player that is suffering from the crap midfield we have.
Sadly I think he will be driven from the club by a bunch of muppets who will then watch him score loads of goals for...
Agreed he was very poor today and should be dropped for next game but up until today he had played 6 games in which we conceeded only 2 goals.
Agree with all the comments about the midfield. I am stunned loft did not get any time at all after Adams said he was "tremendous" on Tuesday.
I like...
I think we are very lucky to have such great cover at the back.
In other positions a player missing would be a disaster (ie when McLeod and Murray were out) but in central defence we have quality to chose from.
Would still rather Hawkins was fit though.
He is the one genuinely attack minded central midfielder we have.
Hopefully we will sign someone better but if not it must be worth giving him a chance. Cannot be any worse than the midfiled on Saturday.
You missed a real treat at Crewe. We played great football.
Second half at Southend was very good as well (even before sending off we had improved).
Yesterday was my first home game of the season and I was shocked at what a difference there was.
Rather judge what I see for myself. Thought we played great football when we won the league.
Agree completely with comments about the home games (although missed Bristol Rovers game). Did you go to Crewe? We played fantastic football and to be honest I was shocked at how poor we were yesterday...
Couldn't disagree more. I think for 300k he is a bargain.
VERY intelligent player that isn't scared to try things. Ok so a lot of his flicks didn't come off today but the service was abysmal.
Look at the goals we have scored this season from open play and note how many Murray has played a part in.
Not saying we should applaud Forster just for running his socks off but the original post was criticizing Forster for not working. Personally I think Murray has a touch of class. It doesn't always come off but when it does it is great to watch (his neat lay off for Forsters goal at Southend for...
As the ball winning midfielder I think AEA is as good as anyone we have.
However as the more attack minded midfielder Thomson is not producing.
Can Livermore play the more creative passing role from central midfield? If so perhaps him and AEA could play together????
If not the only other attack...
Personally I think that the defence and strikers are fine as they are it is the midfield that is the problem.
I'd play Mcleod and Cox on the wings and experiment with Livermore and Loft in the midfield.
Completely disagree. I'm sure on the MANY times that season I was sat in the stands singing "it's just like watching Brazil" we were not just hoofing it.
