Yes I know he has his faults but :

He always makes himself available for a pass.
Puts his foot in.
Good engine.
Tries to get forward.
Gives 100%.

Surely a better option than thomson who must have a break from the team until he can show better form.

Tommy did OK for us last year - and would fill the gap until we can get someone in on loan or in the next transfer window.

yes. why richards was put there yesterday i'll never know. tommy will be a very good player. anyone who says he is worse than thomson's standard of performance yesterday is a downright liar.

Do you honestly think that thomson is a better option on current form ? do you not think he should have to work for his place ? I do not blame thomson individually there are a number of players who are not in form - but it is a position where you can not afford to have people go missing - we need to try a different option.

To be honest I see Fraser as another midfileder of the type we have loads of - defensive minded and a good tackler.
What we need is an attack minded midfielder who is a good passer.

The last time Fraser played all he did was play some HOOF ball. No different from what we have already then!

I'm trying to think of what the question would be if the answer was "Tommy Fraser", is it who on earth would possibly be a worse choice than the current lot?

Yes I do. Fraser is not the answer at all.

I feel with our squad we've got too many half-decent, not particularly good players that 'can do a job' if needed, and Fraser is one of them. These types of players are not good enough and unfortunately we have no choice but to field some of them, in my opinion, we need at least 3/4 new players.

But Tommy has being coached to pass the ball like the game should be played.

I highly rate the lad a Midfield version of Gary Hart.

No.
He DOESN'T try and get forward.

Loft does - he MIGHT be the answer, Fraser clearly ISN'T.

???

That is not what we need. It would be useful but the main problem is that no one is ever available, Thompson and Livermore do nothing. Fraser as the first poster says is always looking for the ball and at the moment that is an improvement even if he's not the greatest player. Richards at least tried to pick the ball up off the defence, but he's a leftback. Mickey Adams saying he was put there because he wanted someone who could put his foot on the ball and pass it was worrying, isn't that the whole point of midfielders??

A Fraser-Loft partnership would probably do better than what we have at the moment.... :thud:

Loft and Livermore looked good together Tuesday night - the right combination of defending/attacking.

Fraser has been on the bench a fair bit so has clearly pleased the manager, I think he definitely deserves go in the centre of midfield. Remember, Wilkins often played him on the right wing and we know that was not his natural position. Let him sort out the centre of the pitch and wouldn't mind seeing him play alongside Loft. Get some passion out there, Tommy bleeds Blue & White
