I don't like the player at all. I would rather someone else. At the moment we will have to put up with him.

You clearly weren't at Southend. Given the service in the second half he was fantastic.

What worries me is when he doesn't get the service, which in the current Albion set-up is most of the time. Forster runs his socks off and tries to MAKE things happen. Murray doesn't. I dare say if he was playing at a much higher level of football, where the service was excellent, and the ball came right to his foot or his head every time, he might actually shine. Could well 'do a CKR'. But he's unlikely to shine for the Albion at this level where he looks something of a luxury player.

That is what irritates me about a lot of people on NSC. They seem to turn against a player and seem to not want them to succeed. Personally, I want all Brighton players to succeed while they are here as that will benefit the club.

Maybe Murray is better and tries harder away from home because he has the support of the fans whereas at home he has moaners like you whinging every time he doesn't chase after a hoof from the defence that he will never get.

I don't want him to suceed if he doesn't want to suceed himself. Desire should be within.

No I agree with that. However, when we had Revell/Savage and Forster up front who would chase after lost causes they often got crosses in but nobody was in the box to finish it. Murray's job is to be in the box and get on the end of the crosses whereas Forster chases the lost causes.

You miss my point. If he doesn;t want to be here, if he can't be bothered, if he is lazy why should I want him to suceed ?.

Just because he does not run around like a headless chicken, does not mean he is lazy or that he does not want to be here. You should want him to succeed because it is in the interests of the club you support for him to succeed.

Murray is a confidence player and if the crowd turns against him that will definitely not help. Hence, away from home with the crowd behind him, he often plays better.

These footballers need to grow some bollocks. " Confidence " player means pampered, namby pamby, spoilt,. Murray need to stop being such a girl and get in the action and stop being a spectator or if he is he should at least pay £ 25 like everyone else.

I really don't believe that he does not put the effort in. His biggest problem is that he has no pace. It's a failing that is not his fault, that's the way he is.

The problem is that we do not provide him with the service he needs, bearing in mind that lack of pace.

It doesn't help when he is up against quick and clever defenders like yesterday.

Murray has got a good touch - but at the moment his first touch is poor. He is not hlding the ball up to allow the midfield to join in attacks. He is not linking with forster. He does not track back or close down. I believe he will come good and I can see that the direct style is not suiting him. However without any competition for his place he does not need to work harder.
Some of the greatest players have appeared almost lazy/casual - at the moment Murray does not have the class to play in this way.
I think he should spend a game on the bench with Virgo up front as a holding player - it will be more successful if we are going to continue playing without a midfield.

How on earth can you judge a forward with the types of balls he has to deal with? With a combination of defenders loving to hoof and our disapearing midfield, all the front two are left with are scraps. We desperately need two other midfielders, in my opinion, give Murray the decent service and he looks a different player.

i'd say 2 one on one chances is pretty good for 1 game

Spot on.

If I had to pick one thing that really riles me about the average, ill-informed Brighton fan, it's the notion that what we really need is 'a trier'.

Just because someone is willing to run and run (with the exception of Forster, who at least has ability to back it up), doesn't mean they are any more valuable to the team.

The real problem is service. At the moment our midfield is total toilet. Adams doesn't appear to know what his best midfield line-up is (proven by whacking Richards there yesterday.)

Cast your minds back to the bad old days - Craig Maskell was a player that reminds me of the situation with Murray. On his day, with good service and crosses from McDonald and Storer, scored loads and was revered by the crowd. When the midfield mis-fired, so did he and got abused for being lazy.

Going back to that era, Peter Smith, Junior McDonut. Both triers. Both could run all day. Both total dog doings...

Absolute shit! he is shocking.. he can't turn any defenders, he's really slow and has no accuracy with his headers. Worst 300,000 quid ever spent. He is so over rated and fails to perform on most occasions, but suddenly becomes an albion great if he scores a goal, which infact is what he gets paid to do. 4 league games and no goal.

Murray out!

I'm not willing to take the opinion of someone who has a MORON like Vinny Jones as their avatar even remotely seriously...
