If the DfT invested in the A21 and the train line and made it possible to get to hastings in less than 1hr 45 mins from London, then we mmight get some tourists who might make a pier a financially viable option.
Alternatively it was a good place for gigs and raves, so maybe a promoter but at...
sad as it is, the pier in Hastings has had its day. The council would be wrong to rescue a pier that is in private ownership when council tax payers money would be better spent on the local infrastructure and housing, health, education etc.
