fave NEIL YOUNG song

"Like a Hurricane" from his old stuff.

"No Wonder" off Prairie Wind from his new stuff.

Hon. Mensh. for "Powderfinger" written allegedly for Lynyrd Skynyrd. Great cover version by the Beat Farmers.

Today my favourite is On the Beach, from what might just be my favourite Neil Young album. I just love the guitar solo on it.
Tomorrow it could be
Cinnamon Girl or Pocahontas or Tired Eyes or After the Goldrush or Like A Hurricane or Fuckin Up or Crime in the City or any one of a hundred other of his brilliant pieces of music.

i guess one will be Pegi, his Mrs. i heard he was "curating" so should be interesting. great price at £50 a ticket too, although capacity is 30,000. hoping for lots of long solos, perfect festival music.

after the goldrush.

There was a group who did an Acapela version in the 70's. That was an excellent version too.

I haven't the faintest idea what its about though!!!

It's between Helpless, Cortez and Southern Man for me. Saw him do a blistering version on Southern Man in Finsbury Park in 93.

Saw the great man with Challenge Chappers at Hammersmith last Saturday. Fantastic gig, and you never know whether it might be his last:bowdown:

If you haven't got the new album, Chrome Dreams 2, get it. 3 fantastic new ragged rockers (Ordinary People, Spirit Road and No Hidden Path) .

Have to agree with Voroshilov about best album, On the Beach.

Best song?........f*** knows, I couldn't choose between any of about 30!

Lookin' For A Leader from Living with War. Got the lyrics that state that Americas next President might be a woman or a blackman. Inspired now with the Clinton race. A great protest album. Strange how the only real good protest songs are being done by a 60 year old.
