Racist chanting

Why are so many people here upset about hundreds of fans singing something at hundreds of other fans?

The majority on both sides are white Anglo-Saxon overweight males under 50 anyway.

I think that taunting an individual person about their race or colour is wrong, but when done on a big scale it's OK as far as I'm concerned.

The most sensible thing on here and i'm sure what the majority would agree with. When did everyone turn into a bunch of little cry babies?

I agree but I think you going to get some stick for that

Great point.

You're right, I have NO IDEA whatsoever whether an Asian would be offended by being called a Paki (although I had an Asian friend at Uni who wasn't too keen on it, pathetic bitch eh) so its probably okay to call them it. Go away.

I'm not calling anyone a Paki, and neither was anyone that i heard last night in the crowd.

I'm not a racist and don't ever intend to be one. But the PC brigade tip toeing around minorities is plain daft.

I think it's borderline to be honest, because it's totally incorrect. Luton is actually 5000 miles from Delhi. Consequently, there are racist overtones to the chant which is basically "you're a town full of Pakis".

Besides which, it isn't funny at all. It's f***ing rubbish and moronic.

I agree it does stretch the boundries of banter where by "bomber" chants definately cross the line and our out of order. Also I would class "gay" songs as f***ing rubbish and moronic but they appear to have been accepted.

I don't care Dougal.

Cardiff fans embrace beign called Sheepshaggers, Spurs fans embraced being called Yiddos, the Albion have largely disempowered the gay taunts by witty responses.

How about Luton fans getting their heads out of their arses and thinking of a witty response to the Taliban chants?

So any Asians in the crowd last night obviously wouldn't have felt at all uncomfortable about the chants would they? f***ing moron.

If you went to a football game with an Asian friend (just imagine) and that was chanted would that not make you feel awkward?

Don't f***ing moron me thank you.

The chanting makes my gay friend feel uncomfortable but does that count to you?

No thought not, you're far too busy banging your drum for everyone else to worry about that aren't you.

I do not see myself as being PC, I brush off the homosexual jibes although perhaps we should make a stand. I am not bothered either way.

The bombing chants (banter???) stem from terrorist attacks in our capital, in which 50 or more people were killed and countless 100s scarred for life. That is not banter.

Am I allowed to simply say that both are shit, unfunny chants aimed at the lowest common denominator? Because that's what I think.
Alf Garnett-esque homophobic and racial abuse is a fact of life. I can't get angry at people singing it at a football match because such occasions are all about people letting off steam.

Just don't expect me to join in. If I wanted to act and behave like a moron, and laugh along with similarly retarded tosspots, I'll go to a Jim Davidson gig.

Exactly. And why do you think so few Asians attend football matches in the first place? Chants like these perhaps........?

Rubbish, it's because they prefer cricket and hockey.

Yes, but do I sing these chants at your gay friend? No, and its upsetting that it makes him feel unconfortable.

In the same way as I would feel uncomfortable taking an Asian friend to a football match at the likes of Luton because of this kind of racist nonsense.

So what, precisely, is your point mate?
