Racist chanting

Not by me they're not. Hilarious gay "banter" is pure muppetry, bawled out by pissed up chavs. The fact that most of us have found a way to laugh it off says good things about our support. i.e. we're tolerant. Nonetheless, it's not the sort of thing that is ever going to make a significant part of the community feel welcome at a football match.

I agree that we have learned to deal with the "gay" chants brilliantly. I stand at away games with the people who dreamed up the "He's over there" song in response to "Does your're boyfriend know you're here". It took quite a while but eventually we got it to take off.

But then where do we draw the line?...I heard the excellent "feed the pikey's, let them know it's Christmas time" chant, but then by any other token is this also taking it too far? What about calling Scousers thieves? This could go on forever with debates about what is and what is not acceptable, especially when players are concerned. Leicester players got rapist taunts, Watford's Clark Carlisle has alcoholic abuse aimed at him and even Glen Little of Reading get's grief about his abnormally large nose.

This is insane...

Albion & England forever.

I think you'll find the number of pages depends on how many posts per page you've have set your control panel to. :)

So it does.

Please feel free to start a chant along the lines of "who's the thick twat over there?" and I won't get offended by it.

Just don't call me a paki

If someone like Peter Kay made a abit of a joke out of it, i'm sure the majority would laugh at it.
Let me know when he does. Part of the reason Kay is so funny is that he doesn't often resort to swearing or base, offensive humour. He's quality.

abso-f***ing-lutley, i'm not very politically correct but insulting some one for something they have no control over is no better or worse than racism or homophobia.

May I suggest reading some books? You can change a lot of things, but the colour of a person's skin or their sexuality is rather different.

I think you'll find the term FAGGOT far more acceptable on here.

I can deal with that, even without wringing my hands and calling for steward assistance. Make the chant "thick, faggot twat over there".

Maybe this is why so many thick twats don't go to football matches, and I have asked nearly all of them.

I went to Uni with a lot of thick people and I can assure you they find it very offensive.

Imagine how ashamed you'd be if you took a thick friend to a game and they started singing this sort of stuff. I wouldn't know where to look
