Great - Dwayne's here talking "common sense".

Time to agree to disagree.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

on a side note, I sometimes go out with a group of blacks and asians, the sly racial abuse we used to give each became so bad that we just agreed that if anyone gave each other prejudice shit we would just accept it within the group and laugh it off instead of feeling awkward about it. Now that's progress!!

Clearly me not falling into line and agreeing with your opinon makes illiterate. Good point well made

You miss the point. Again. You said that calling you a "thick twat" is no different to racism or homophobia.

But it is, as you have the ability to educate yourself.

A person cannot change the colour of their skin or their sexuality.

8 pages talking about chants that have no relevance to the game of football

Appears football games are just a vast setting for two populations to shout and abuse each other, with songs that often have no relevance to the game they are watching.

Or am i just missing the point?

You are not born homosexual, it is a choice, because if homosexuality was genetic, you would not be born in the first place.

Clearly we're not going to agree on this i'll let you put in a final counter point and will read this thread no more, Happy New Year.

Good point. Same with black people, they love football and yet you dont see that many black people at games.

You dont see many eskimos either stupid. Blacks make up about 1% of the population, sportwise I would say that is skewed towards cricket.

Contrary to the image the BBC and LI would like to wash your tiny mind in the UK is very white.

And dont you just love white people and hate everybody else Looney. Good attempt to patronise me, but your nationalist rant has missed my point.

Blacks may make 1% of the overall population, but in areas where there are a high proportion of black people/minorities, you still dont see that many at games, case in point West Ham. In the borough of Newham white people are in the minority I believe, yet at West Ham matches they are in the vast minority. Even allowing for the fact that fans come from other areas and may support other teams even if they're near West Ham, the representation doesnt add up. My friend works at West Ham and tells me this all the time.

Obviously at places like Carlisle I wouldnt expect there to be a lot of minorities, but at some of the big city teams I am often surprised by the lack of other groups.

There are plenty of things that make people different that are not genetic. Who said homosexuality was inherited from parents/grandparents?

Personally, I don't fancy men. I could make a "choice" to be homosexual according to you.. although, as I don't fancy men, that would seem rather an odd thing to do.

However, there are some men who DO fancy other men. Personally, I doubt they've "chosen" to... it just happens that their biological urges are different.

All of which is besides the point. Even if those people have "chosen" to be gay, that's no excuse for hundreds of people to openly abuse them.

There are plenty of black fans who go to watch London teams play at home.

Anyway, I thought Afro-Caribbean / Asian % of the population was nearer 10% than 1%?

I think nowadays people do choose there sexuality as it is more socially acceptable. Some people choose it to rebel or just to be "fashionable" . We are born to reproduce , if it isn't a choice then it must be an illness ?
I think it's a choice thats made

The continuing lack of black fans in the same ratio as the population is a generational thing that will iron itself out.

Today's black youngsters have parents that were around in the 70s and 80s, heard either first hand or from the news/friends what was being sung at football matches - and it is the last place they would take their kids for 'entertainment' even now.

In 10/20 years that will no longer be the case.

Racecourses is an even more extreme example. You hardly ever see a black face at a racecourse, either in the 'toffs' or the 'plebs' sections. But go into a betting shop...it's not as if there is any cultural lack of interest in the sport.

I used to work for Kempton Park racecourse and 'The Voice' used to sponsor a day and had a VIP box full of black guests. There weren't any other black people in attendance. I always thought it was a very bizarre sponsorship.

Dougal, I don't think you will find that people choose their sexuality like they would a new pair of shoes, it is genetic.
