It is a shame. I have been looking up his stats. They were excellent in his first two seasons and thoroughly decent last year. This year for about a dozen games they have not been good. In those dozen games he was not alone in not performing to previous years' performances. Players actually...
Different style of programme really.
Question Time for one night a week and Newsnight for the other nights is fine with me. Newsnight much more factual and direct. Question Time much more a debate. Both good.
He has got the team playing decent stuff in the middle of the park (albeit slowly for too much of the time) but insufficiently robust in the defensive third and insufficiently inventive in the final third. He has been given a hot potato in Ben White who is not aggressive enough or good enough...
He always gives 100 per cent and has a very good shot on him. He plays with good intelligence. He does not however have the assets of pace or strength and his distribution can be patchy. Thus the Premier League is tough for him. Nice guy though who you really want to do well.
Gone for a 3 1 win because we need to win and bring some cheer. No reason with a favourable draw whilst we can't go far in this, particularly with the PL being so competitive.
I see he is now third favourite for the chop behind Chris Wilder and Roy. He is now 4 to 1, having been 16 to 1 before today's game. Is something in the offing ?
Depends how we went down. If we went down with a whimper he would be out. Alongside this a lot depends on the alternative. If TB feels there is a better available manager for the project, GP will be on his way.
Doing OK.
Last season he was playing for a winning attacking team in a lower division. This season he is playing for a losing team in a higher division and coming under more pressure from better players.
I wonder how he would cope as a CB in a back four.
I do not think we need to be...
Yes we'll take Pope, Barnes and Wood from Burnley and give them Ryan, Maupay and Connolly. Dyche's response to the offer would be interesting (with no ladies present !!)
Sorry but it is not all that with glaring weaknesses in defence and attack. It was great to see Sanchez show confidence and ability last night and hopefully we can build on that from the back. He was really the one bright spark.
I am on the fence for now and hopefully things will be looking a little brighter in the New Year after our games again Fulham, Sheffield United, West Ham and Arsenal. I would like to see 6 points from those, which should relieve the pressure somewhat.
I am not sure that Gus will now have the appetite for League 1 football. If all goes well I would expect him to use you as a springboard and jump ship when there is a 'better' opportunity for him.
I do think he gets enough praise from the supporters on here and the media. The style of football is positive and entertaining but the table shows 10 points from 10 games. That is decent enough but not impressive. I believe though that we are improving and an increased points tally will bring...
