You and Swansfan are inventing scenarios and using incendiary language ("disciplinary reasons", “blow out with the boss”, “going haywire”) in an attempt to pooh-pooh the idea that there's more to this than a loss of form.

It is a shame. I have been looking up his stats. They were excellent in his first two seasons and thoroughly decent last year. This year for about a dozen games they have not been good. In those dozen games he was not alone in not performing to previous years' performances. Players actually dropped for personal issues does not suggest a happy ship.

With covid everywhere and the prospect of injury and loss of form a goalkeeping 'arsenal' of Sanchez, Walton and Steele when every point is vital, does not look strong to me.

The decision may have been executed within 4 weeks but it was likely a long time coming.

The stats back this up. Our club bases a lot on data analytics, the fact that we had a keeper letting in a goal everytime a shot was on target would not have been missed by Bloom himself, let alone GP and our data science team.

Matty has underperformed for over a year. Why is this so hard to believe for you?

I know exactly how the Club operates in terms of Data Science. If you are going to base your argument on that then there would be a lot more of them out the door.

Mat hasn't exactly been great but one of the most consistent players in the PL Era has consistently one of the worst stats at the Club. Always has done for years now.

Players don't get kicked out the Club solely due to their Stats. They just don't.

Yep, I'd have sold him rather than a loan. He won't play for us again, so why not try and recoup as much as possible?

I do of course appreciate that it will free up wages.

It's hardly spin from me.

You and Swansfan are inventing scenarios and using incendiary language ("disciplinary reasons", “blow out with the boss”, “going haywire”) in an attempt to pooh-pooh the idea that there's more to this than a loss of form.

There are a 101 things which could have happened off the pitch. I'm not going to speculate, but issues don't have to be physical fights, or problems directly between the player and manager.

In fact, the issue here might not even be Ryan's fault, or been instigated by him. So it's not a slur on the goalkeeper, as Swansfan said ("Personally I have higher thoughts about Ryan"), to suggest there's more to his exit than his form.

And going back to one of my previous posts, we know Potter has had to deal with off-field issues this season which has seen a player (at least two, I think) dropped for reasons other than form...

You were the one speculating from the start, saying you thought something happened off the pitch. I said that I dont think so. How you fail to see that you are the one spinning this is one for the unresolved mysteries thread, but most likely its because you're thick.

The solution is a classic case of 'my enemy's enemy is my friend'.
1. Maupay crocks Leno in the game at the Amex. (goalkeeper's society...Ryan feels the pain).
2. Maupay and Ryan have a bust up at training (not saying it's related in any way)
3. Ryan moves to Arsenal and becomes best mates with Leno.

I love it :albion2:

If he’s not going to start in the FA cup when exactly is he going to get the ‘more first team opportunities’ he wants?

I was hardly the first or last to suggest that there's more to Ryan's departure than form.

The fact that you're now resorting to insults tells its own story.

Nope, you were not. But you were one of those who did.

And yes it tells the story of me wanting to insult you.

I’m not sure how anyone, logically speaking, can believe there hasn’t been some kind of bust up, Ryan going straight from first choice to not even on the bench or in club pictures etc is fairly compelling evidence there must be a deeper problem, as well as the fact we know there was issues earlier in the season inter-squad that led to him being dropped. Maybe one day we’ll find out, probably not as the club do a good job of keeping things quiet.

I think its very logical, he was bad and lost his place and wanted to leave and now he is gone. No "compelling evidence" for anything else.

Ryan didn't appear to have his heart with the Albion for quite a few games. Maybe he just wanted to move. I would not want him in any squad if he wasn't fully up for it. I wish the lad well, he has made a backward step.

Ok, so if I would have written "could you stop being so ****ing thick" it wouldnt have been insulting but simply a request?

Today I learned.

Stop deflecting the fact you were out of order.

You have your opinion which is valid

Someone else had another

Just because you don’t agree with them it doesn’t mean you can call someone thick.
