[Albion] Maybe we should discuss the manager in/out

I suppose it boils down to this.

*Do we think doing better than we have done this past year or so is a reasonable expectation?

*If yes, how responsible is Graham Potter for us not doing better?

Keeping us up with a records point total enough for you?

Personally, I think that this is the only time he will manage in the Premier League. I think he should try and enjoy it, win a few matches from time to time and bank the cash money he's being paid. He doesn't seem to have much interest in the team doing better but his brief is straight forward - 17th or higher. He's achieving it at the moment and thanks to a last day win last season, he achieved a highest points total so he's dining out on that a little bit with the sympathisers. I want the team to be successful so all the time he's the manager I want him to be a success. Right now we're rubbish and can't beat a League 2 team with our full team but this is a dip in form, I'm sure we'll get a surprise result at Leeds and then go on a nice run to renew our 1 win every 4 games average, which seems to be all our fans want/expect.

Hi

I just got this great idea: we should discuss if Graham Potter is good enough or not good enough.

There might be one or forty three other threads on this subject but that didnt stop anyone before.

Personally I think he is good. What do you think? I'm very interested in your definitely not watery opinions on this definitely not watered down subject.

Pretty much this.

This. Fair play to GP for making a silk purse out of a sow's ear, career-wise. It's pure Emperor's New Clothes. There's literally nothing on his CV that makes him remotely suitable to manage an EPL club. But fair play to the boy for landing the one job - and inevitable payoff - that will provide him and his family with financial security for the rest of their lives :clap2:

Porter out! I propose that a match day poll is not enough.

It should be daily, or better yet, hourly!

This bloke don’t even know his own first 11 wtf? And he’s a terrible coach at Swansea. Yeah [emoji110]

I have resigned from posting the Potter IN/OUT post match poll. Would you like to take it over?

Seeing as you've asked, i think he's out of his depth. I fear he's lost the dressing room and don't trust him to be able to turn it around.

The whole albion vibe at the moment feels like it did under Hyppia.

Cue for a song:

"Oh Mr Potter what shall we do,

We want a side to face City, not one which' ld lose v Crewe..."

He has got the team playing decent stuff in the middle of the park (albeit slowly for too much of the time) but insufficiently robust in the defensive third and insufficiently inventive in the final third. He has been given a hot potato in Ben White who is not aggressive enough or good enough in the air to be a successful PL centre back in a 4 and seems to adjust the team to accommodate him which appears rather weak management to me.

The team is doing a little less well than expected. It could all go to pot with relegation or a few wins will bring a reasonable league position. An interesting few weeks ahead, provided always the PL continues.

Coz Porter’s a terrible manager mate. Don’t you get it? What are you, a licker?

A Coach spends more time listening and asking questions, while a Manager spends more time speaking and giving directions.

A Coach uncovers issues to get the the root of a problem, while a Manager takes the quickest route to deal with the surface symptoms.

Which one is Potter?

On a serious note, I’d remind the Potter out brigade that the majority of NSC are behind our manager.

I'd be interested to see results with a "on the fence" option to polls (and no I'm not about to create another poll). That's because it feels like a few Potter In folks do have doubts about him and can see something drastic needs to change but don't think giving him the elbow right now is the best course of action for the club. Just because they're not voting Out doesn't mean they're behind him. (Obviously equally there are plenty of folks like yourself that are right behind him.)
