There's little point in arguing. People will moan until we sign a striker(s). If we do sign one or two, some people will inevitably moan that they are the wrong options (you only have to look at comments on here about various options to see that). And if the striker(s) don't score against West...
Quite a lot over 100 runs but still a very bad morning. They seem to have gone at it more like a one day game this session for some reason. Lots of small stands but none of 50 or more since the first wicket (and that was only 50).
Completely agree. I have confidence in the club and, even if people haven't, what is the point of all this frustration and criticism so near to the end of the window?
We only have three days left of the window and then we'll find out what the final squad will be. It is exciting, I agree...
Would not be pleased at signing Gayle. Does not have a great record in the Premier League and regularly injured. Also, if Newcastle are having issues but hoping to sell him to bring in others, it doesn't suggest they rate him that highly.
Are you the latest to come on here just to moan. We do lack negative trolls on here.
By the way, believing everything you read in the paper is not necessarily a good idea!
I am thinking we shouldn't be judging players after three games. There seems to be a decision among some on here to criticise our summer signings already. Ryan should be replaced, Propper is terrible, Gross is too slow. In the same way you can't judge the league table until 10 games are gone...
Do you actually support Brighton? You never post anything positive.
To say a signing is appalling after two games is ridiculous. And Uwe proved he was a good signing at the end of last season when we needed him most.
As for Winstanley, the signings he made have helped us turn from a bottom six...
Agreed. Same applies with managers. People often moan when their manager moves to a bigger club but these are no doubt the same people who, when the team has a bad run, are calling for the manager to be sacked.
Agreed. Wonder if both Woakes and Roland-Jones will play in the third test if England win this one. Give Anderson and/or Broad a rest and have the option to see how others do.
The signing of Murray was in case we didn't go up in my view. If we hadn't secured him permanently and not gone up, then we'd have been chasing him during the summer as well as replacing the likes of Stephens, Stockdale and possibly also Knockaert/Dunk. Securing our top scorer was a logical step...
You do realise we have already signed seven players (if you include Dwamena) with another three possible (goalkeeper, defender and striker)? Other than Towell and Ince, who already seem likely to leave, and Hemed/possibly Skalak, any other players leaving would need to be replaced, which would...
I think he probably will go if we get the players we want. It doesn't sound like the fee will be an issue as there is a fair amount of interest from other clubs apparently and we will probably be happy to let him leave for around £5 million (Leeds certainly have that sort of money after selling...
Interesting although not that surprising. I think it would still leave us needing one more striker though, even if we do get Dwamena.
I really rate Hemed (look at his goals to appearances ratio last season) but sadly think he will struggle now we've tweaked the formation. To effectively play as...
Great news this move is finalised. Feels like ages since we announced that he had signed. Hopefully we'll get to see him on Saturday, although probably just from the bench!
Not really. All first team players, except maybe Suttner, are young enough that they should increase in value, especially if they make any impact on the Premier League. We are not throwing money away on 30 plus year old players.
