    Solly March and Lewis Dunk

Got to give a huge amount of credit to Solly March. Two serious injuries in the space of under a year is a major obstacle to overcome but he looked a different player when he came back last season and has gone up another level this season. Ignoring injuries, my main two concerns with him pre...

    [Albion] Maty Ryan. Discuss.

That is one of the most clueless comments I have seen. It is ironic you put this in the Maty Ryan thread as Duffy was another written off after two games last season. Why did we spend a record amount on a terrible defender etc etc? £3.5 million now looks an absolute bargain and I am confident...

Exactly. And there will be more days like that at huge grounds where we could have only dreamed of going in the league 20 (or even 10) years ago. And we may come away from one or two with a draw/win and what a reception the players will get at the end then. I am loving every minute of the...

    Player ratings v Arsenal (a)

Ryan 8 - Very good save just before half time and good handling from shots generally. Looks like a good signing now after being written off by some Bruno 6 - Solid but nothing spectacular. Not able to get forward as much as usual, understandably Dunk 8 - Generally very good except for one or two...

    Player ratings v Arsenal (a)

It is funny how opinions differ, isn't it? I thought he had his best Premier League game for us yesterday yet there seems to be a lot of criticism for him on this thread. He gave the ball away a couple of times (but less than in previous times) and at least once took it straight back off...

Credit due to the 3,000 travelling fans

I really can't understand this logic. After years of watching Albion lose to poor teams in poor stadiums, we are in the Premier League playing against the best teams in the country. Yes, we will probably lose most games against the big six/seven (and a lot of games across the whole season) but...

We gave a very good account of ourselves...

Totally agree. There has been some of the usual rubbish about how we should have attacked more etc from the usual moaners. In my view, we did what we could to restrict Arsenal and actually matched for them for periods of the game. After the first goal, we arguably more than matched them for the...

    Substitutions!

Do you mean like the gamble substitutions that Poyet made when when we were 3-1 down in the cup at Liverpool and we ended up losing 6-1?

    Steve Cotterill

Fair point. His main successes were with Cheltenham in League 1 and 2 and taking Bristol City up from League 1.

    Steve Cotterill

Certainly would have been a more interesting appointment. Cotterill did do well at Cheltenham and Bristol City but has failed more often than succeeded. Given that and Birmingham's owners seeming pretty clueless, I would be surprised if he lasts the season

    Steve Cotterill

I'm not standing up for Birmingham (as I think it is a poor appointment), but who else is there. If Karanka turned them down, they were really short of options. So far the new owners have sacked three managers in less than a year so it is not like they are giving managers time to change things.

Hemed stamp [Charged, appealed, banned for 3 games]

I agree with you that banning players after the match is a good thing, although I am struggling to see what Hemed did as violent conduct. What really annoys me is the ridiculous rule that if the referee saw the incident, no action can be taken. I find that a really odd rule. If you are acting...

Hemed stamp [Charged, appealed, banned for 3 games]

Agreed. I find it very odd that the FA are jumping on this incident when so many others go by unpunished. I do sometimes feel that the smaller clubs in the league get punished when bigger ones don't. If Hemed played for Manchester United or Chelsea, I doubt he'd have been charged.

Hemed stamp [Charged, appealed, banned for 3 games]

Can the ban be increased in this situation? It is different to him actually having been sent off and us appealing.

Hemed stamp [Charged, appealed, banned for 3 games]

Of course it could. Hemed held the ball up really well on Saturday. A young forward would struggle to be as effective meaning more pressure on the midfield and defence

Hemed stamp [Charged, appealed, banned for 3 games]

I really don't understand the 'nothing to lose' comments. If we lose 6-0 on Sunday, our goal difference will be a lot worst and confidence will take a hit. In terms of points, you are right but not overall

Hemed stamp [Charged, appealed, banned for 3 games]

As he is our only fit striker at the moment and our level top scorer, I would say you probably are

    [Albion] Maty Ryan. Discuss.

Frankly, it looks very like you are trying to criticise Ryan and mainly because we have a good defence. Why not support our players rather than trying to find stats to criticise them with?

    [Albion] Maty Ryan. Discuss.

Completely agree, although I would add a bit of Murphy to the Leicester goal for giving the ball away and then not tracking back to support Suttner. It also doesn't reflect how good the saves were. You could have had 20 shots straight at you and be top of the list or have made only 10 saves but...

    Frank De Feat - SACKED

Yes, we can consider ourselves lucky about your appointment of De Boer. I mean it is not like you have had bad runs before he joined. You were superb during the whole of 2016, weren't you? I don't see people 'giving it the biggun' on here. All I see is a pathetic Palace fan trawling a rival...
