This is even worst than the OP. At least he comments on specific points of one game rather than writing a player off as a poor signing after one competitive match. I seriously wonder about some of our fans (and this doesn't mean he's guaranteed to be a great signing, just that writing him off...
Great. One game in and we've already got threads slagging off individual players. As others have said, Duffy started slowly last season and got heavily criticised on here yet people don't learn. Give players a chance before writing them off.
Absolutely. Have no doubt about Propper, I was more commenting on the hypocrisy of criticising some people for doubting one new signing after one game and then saying another new signing looks like a 'dud' after one league game.
I think I'm in trouble too. Coming from London. Based on the warped logic of one person on this thread, I shouldn't be supporting Albion either. I'll have to confirm with him who I should support.
In answer to your original question, I agree with much of what you said. We did okay and didn't...
One of the more bizarre threads on here. I was a fan of Barnes when he was here but there is absolutely no way we'd swap him for Stephens. As usual on here, every time we lose some supporters use it as a chance to slag off individual players. Why not support the players?
Completely agree re Propper and giving him a chance but didn't I see you post somewhere that Ryan looks like a dud (on the give Maenpaa a chance thread)? You can't complain about some people doubting Propper when you are saying one of our other new signings looks like a dud after one league game...
Exactly. I don't understand how this is not obvious to supporters. We played the right way, sitting back and then pressing when they got near to our area when we could get near. If Stephens hadn't made a mistake, it could have worked. A much better judge of our tactics will be how we play at...
I don't see what relevance Burnley and Huddersfield have. Huddersfield were away to Palace (a completely different proposition to Manchester City) and Burnley were playing against ten men for most of the match (and even then sat back in the second half and could easily have failed to win against...
I think Neto would have been a massive signing (as we've clearly been scouting him for a long time). I feel really sorry for the club with that one as we'd persuaded him to join from the sound of it so it was just the medical. Just that one signing (so even if we got a CM in this week) would...
This is the sort of unnecessary comment that adds nothing to the forum. Nobody is saying our team spirit will keep us up. I've not seen anyone say we'll be okay with our current squad. Yet some people use it as a tool to beat anyone who is not attacking the club.
Everyone knows we need...
Agreed. There is nothing in his stats that suggest he is worth even close to that. I know he is young but still.
Odd move for him too. Leaving West Ham for first team football but hard to see him getting above Assombalonga and Braithwaite and playing regularly
I agree. I am really surprised that we let him go before signing a replacement. We may be close but, given what happened with Neto, I would have thought the club would wait until a replacement has passed their medical and signed a contract. We are in danger of leaving ourselves short of options...
I am not arguing with that but this thread is how panicked are you. So you are saying not very. I am not saying people can't get annoyed/panicked, it is just that I don't bother as I don't see the point. As you say, we are all entitled to our views.
Well I am and I don't see how it's relates to my point. Does it actually help to get annoyed and panic every day on here and social media? Will it mean there are signings made quicker? The summer is the off season, there is plenty of time to get stressed about Albion during the season (and to be...
What makes you think that? I am a season ticket holder. And, if I wasn't, I'd still have no control over Albion signings so there is no point in getting annoyed really.
