As I say, why not give him a chance rather than moaning. He apparently did very well in Belgium last year and if the scouting team think he is a better option than Stockdale, then we should trust their judgement until it is proved otherwise.
Or maybe just give our new signings a chance. I assume you've seen Mathew Ryan play to be disappointed with his signing (and I don't mean a couple of games in the Confederations Cup)
Actually, I have said I am disappointed we haven't signed more players at this stage. However, it's the constant moaning on here from some that is really boring.
How was not winning the title a disgrace? We went up last season and you call the end of season a disgrace. We could just as easily have had that run of defeats earlier in the season as the Championship is so random. We won promotion. That's what matters
Yes, and in tougher situations the players won't have achieved their aims and effectively have lost focus. To say Hughton lost the dressing room is ridiculous because that's what clubs say when they sack a manager. The players lost a bit of focus. The Norwich game was always going to be a defeat...
Which is how it should be. There was huge discussion on here around Pritchard last season and look what happened there. As much as fans would like to be kept up to date on an hourly basis by the club about transfers, it's much better for us not to know.
Absolutely agree. It seems that when we have a successful sportsman or woman, we need to find something to say against them. Take Murray and the obsession some have with him being anti England (based on one joke he made to journalists when they were doing the same to him). It is sad.
Also...
Almost certainly not, I'd say. Looking back at some of the moaning on here over the last couple of seasons when we failed to win a game or two, I'd say our fans have definitely not got what it takes to accept defeats.
But this is a completely different situation. The main aim of the season was achieved. Look at some of the Premier League clubs when 40 points is achieved (West Brom and Stoke being two obvious examples). They are playing for higher position and potentially a top half finish and still fall apart...
No, I'm saying most of the above list would be better. Yes, by implication that would include the best (but I clearly didn't quantify how much better) but also some who people on here don't rate (for example Skalak)
It's a real shame. The LuaLua who started the season before last could get into our Premier League starting 11 comfortably. He was brilliant for the first six or seven games but, as you say, he's not got back close to that since his injury at Wolves.
I put 20 but it's almost impossible to know. If you look at the player who is the 25th squad player at a lot of bottom half Premier League teams, I would say most of ours would be better. The issue is the first 11 at the moment, not the squad members.
That's pretty much where I am. The club have done amazingly well the last two seasons on the transfer market and the current recruitment team have been brilliant, more than enough that we should trust them (and not moan like some are doing seemingly on a daily basis on here).
However, having...
Four is the absolute minimum for me. That would be two defenders (ideally a right back and left back), a central midfielder and a striker. However, that would assume we would keep Walton as third choice keeper (whereas he seems likely to go on loan), keep Goldson (where again he might go out on...
I don't think the Argus know anything so I wouldn't worry. For what it's worth, I think it will be six plus a Goldson replacement if needed. The six will be a goalkeeper, right back, left back, central midfielder, winger/number 10, main striker.
