seems a bit odd that we've put the time and effort into developing a young goalkeeper - a proper albion supporting one at that - who shows potential in the first team, then let him go once his first pro contract runs out. surely we could have offered him a one year deal just to be on the safe...
i guess the point i was trying to make, albeit with a heavy touch, was that signing a reserve striker from palace who goes straight into our first team is a bit humiliating - its bad enough that we've been in lower leagues than them for most of the last 15 years or so, but taking their reserves...
that's a bit short on insight. hardly anybody used to come through the youth set up and those that showed promise were quickly moved away (barry and standing). under wilkins the youth structure was reorganised and improved and we started winning the southern non premiership youth leagues...
yes but also some crackers - racon, murrey, the tidy french midfielder who's name escapes me, dicker.
the recent duff signings were adams picks - hawkins, mcloed etc
how do you know that matt lawrance wants to sign for us? i hope not. i don't think we should sign players from palace, it cheapens the rivalry a bit in my book. i didn't like it one little bit when andrews was playing last season, had to cheer and support a palace player wearing the stripes...
we didn't win a single league game that he played in. our only wins during his loan period game when he was taken off at half time (we were 0.2 down at half time) and when he stayed on the bench for 90 mins.

should have been given another season in my view. showed plenty of promise - i think he's more of a passing midfielder than a grafter or at least would have developed into that if given time... and another contract!
they have no class. ownership passes from one filthy rich money man to another, neither of which cares not a jot for pompey fc. their only concern is pocketing cash or laundering it through the club.
we on the the other hand have just passed chairmanship from one albion fan to another. and...
michel is still a class act in league 1. we don't need to spend money on a new keeper, we should have kept sullivan and show more patience and seen how he develops.
don't see what anybody can have against kuipers. he's a great keeper plus he's albion through and through.
get rid of mcloed and hawkins. both terrible. not sure about livermoor though, he played for both hull and millwall in championship so must have something about him. surely?
i think i'm the only person on here who would like to see dixon get another chance - i thought he did okay on his only...
nail on head! this is why arsenal are also in a great position because in about 5 years they'll have paid off their stadium loan (i think?) and then every penny they make from the cash cow of a stadium they get to keep. compare that to man u and liverpool.
i assume at some stage little tony...
gotta be more rewarding than scouting for fulham? i can't be the only one that hopes there's at least 2 or 3 home grown players in the team when we run out at falmer for the very first time?
