Ah well. Hopefully the rules will change to your liking in time for your next bout of financial trouble.

Have a nice evening.
You miss the point. Its not about Palace or Brighton, but football in general. Until a big name club goes to the wall, nothing will happen.

For the record if I chose the rule, any club entering administration would be relagted two divisions, and have a 5 year wage cap placed on them.

Too be fair to Brighton, the fact we didn't, or couldn't back then, and that has set us much further behind than 5 years, although out circumstance was quite unique, in that we had an asset striper of a businessman, who is very successful in his field and at what he does, not understand football fans. It's not cause we overspent, we were brought by someone to fail, that was that mans aim from the outset

Err.....you are completely wrong here, there are lots of clubs who have had asset stripping chairmen, Ken Bates is one for example, there are also others at places such as Wrexham, Chesterfield et al.

Football is an easy industry in which to make a quick buck, a lot of it is cash based, and so money can easily 'disappear' prior to the VAT man being paid at the end of each month/quarter.

They've said all along that the purchase of the club is reliant on purchasing the ground. I'd like to be optimistic that they'd buy us anyway but it makes no financial sense with the current rent p.a.

It is football - what did financial sense have to do with it. One deal or other was always going to be done. A lot of fuss about nothing.

Except for shafted creditors (again) and a place in the championship that should not be yours.

I see now that they may not be selling Ambrose either. Makes a mockery of the whole Administration process. Run up a debt you can't manage and just walk away from it by just changing your name.

So much for Crystal Paupers.

He'll probably still go. Administration has been tough - we've lost players, points and staff. And as you full well know it was only Agilo that pulled us into admin. There are plenty more clubs being run more poorly than Palace.

Good news about the ground eh? I'd dig out your years of posts about having to play at Sutton or groundshare but I can't be arsed. I don't see why Long and Parrish won't be viewed in the same light as Dick Knight. Fans that rescued a club from a horrible situation. Problem with the Palace scenario is that the trouble was caused by a deluded Palace fan - Jordan.

I am off for a good wine myself. (No "H" in mine though).

Palace fans protesting about Jordan? It's hilarious how they're all slagging him off now but every one of them that are obsessed with this site bloody loved him despite his obvious incompetance and gittishness. Palace fans must surely be the most gullible in the league. Still I suppose they were right just to sit back calmly and wait for the administrators to sort things out - much more efficient than getting off your arse and showing an interest I guess.

Whoops! Wrong post to quote; never mind eh

Agilo did so because they are owed rather a lot of money. You've only really lost one player you wanted to hang on to so far and he would probably have gone anyway. The problem that so many people have with clubs in administration is the fact that you have ripped people off, there's no getting away from it. No point in blaming Jordon either, he is not in the same league as Bill Archer. He did his best and was the Great White Hope [sic] after the mess that Goldberg left. Remember he's eight million quid out of pocket (as against Tony Bloom's £90 million odd).

I doubt that you'll go down next season but you can bet that with the probable exception of Portsmouth and Leeds every Championship team will resent you.

I am probably wrong but didn't Jordan sink about £30m into Palace and will only get 1p in the £ back? Didn't you have a former chairman (Goldberg??) who also lost a mint and had to sell out when his cash ran out too?

If shows that even a club with reasonable gates such as Palace can't cope financially in the Championship, which is something that we should remember ourselves should we get promoted when at Falmer, there is no easy route to the Prem and it is not a money maker being in the league below.

Now all the fuss has died down, can anyone seriously say they thought for a moment that Palace would go into liquidation? Big drama over nothing when the end result was never in doubt. As has been proved.

but in all seriousness, once you can understand, but twice and more . As much as I have mates who are palace fans and I would not like to see another club go under, this is just rediculous.

I feel sorry for all these companies who have to deal with football clubs.

If it was me running a business unless I had to it would be "cash up front" before I would touch any of them with a barge pole.

What still riles me is that its you and I who pay our taxes every month and these clubs deduct tax and ni off these high paying earners and the HMRCA get to see a fraction of it...meaning it affects all of us in a small way.

It should not be allowed

There needs to be a shorter period between the first non-payment of tax - and the alarm bells ringing. If Football has this football debts rule - HMRC should be able to set special rules for them.

but they should abide by the rules that govern all of us who work for companies.....tax is due 15th of the month from when the tax and NI was deducted.

We all know there are people who bend the rules and stretch this out, BUT when I worked for a builders in teh town, we had IR men in collecting cheques from us on the 15th every month!

The annoying aspect is that within a day or two Palarse fans will be on here larging it totally forgetting their grovelling of the last few days,

For what its worth I'm glad the scum are still here, and like 99% of others don't want too see a football club go out of business, and lets be fair, a club like Crystal Palace was never in any rea danger.

But, I stand by the fact something more needs to be done to stop clubs going ino administration, and instead of a pointless point deducted, I think a two division demotion would stop clubs taking he administration route in its tracks

I think you have a good point there, but clubs do not take administration as easily as you suggest, and HMRC are being far more aggressive in relation to unpaid taxes, so often will oppose a cva scheme.

Oh behave - fans are grateful that we've even got a club and the support on here from those with a brain. Equal bile from a few but that's football.

I don't expect you to support us or wish our demise. However, you obviously cannot control your core bitterness.

At the end of the day I want BHA to lose every game and you want us to do so, which would mean changing divisions but for neither of us to face liquidation. You can only take the moral high ground because TB pumped in £90m. Otherwise whose to say you wouldn't be in exactly the same position?

Correct. They were rescued by a businessman giving them money, whereas we have been rescued by businessmen...er... giving us money!

How different is that!
