Agreed about the RE Memorial to be fair.

But you're talking about a club thousands of people love and a fair few on here are hoping we go bust. I can assure you Brighton will be a very boring club to support without a rival 'cos nobody else takes an interest in you at all.

Southend aren't too keen on us:wink:

True enough - & there were a couple of nasty Charlton yoofs calling us "benders" from the opposite platform (after we'd won there last season).

Hasn't Ron Noades had CPFC by the bollocks for many years just waiting for this situation to arise so that he could benefit from it? I'm not an authority on the subject, in fact I know f*** all but from what I do I have always had the thought that Noades was in some way the root cause of all of their problems.

A bit like the Albion when we had the highest paid players in the top flight then...

Exactly, we were the architects of our own downfall back then & it took many years for the situation to get rectified. In fact we are only now seeing the light after our spending during our time at the higher end of the football spectrum. Different I know but we did it too. I don't want CPFC to go under, that would be grossly unfair after so many got away with it but football has to get its house in order & only a cap on wages in relation to the clubs turnover will do this. Unfortunately it's not so simple because MUFC, CFC etc will monopolise the title completely due to their attendances = higher turnover but there could be a handicap system of sorts to allow for a levelling of the playing field.
It's odd that in the US the capitalist centre of the universe that in their sports such as football (US) they employ a system that allows for fair play & competitiveness by ensuring the teams that finish lower get a first bite at new players with the "draft". Again I'm not an authority on this & someone will enlighten us how that works but work it does & is a good example of allowing a fairer game.

Hypocritical c**t

Brighton were done over by Archer and co, we were done over by Agilo.

Completely ignorant post, if we had entered voluntary administration then I would agree that it was our intention to cheat. The fans, the players, the non playing staff and the potential new owners have done nothing wrong so why should we be punished because Agilo got cold feet? Clearly you are one of many ignorant bystanders who think we intended to go into admin.

Someone else said it, Brighton surely deserved the same fate then would you not agree? We're not going to be taken over by a Swiss billionaire like Southampton. Like Brighton, we're set to inherit a board who love the club in a non egotistical away which can't be said for many clubs.

If you really want CPFC to go bust, then you epitomise exactly what is wrong with football these days. I bet you cream yourself over the top 4 as well.
Well done for turning it into a slanging match. For what its worth I think your a **** as well, but I think that of 99% of Palace shit.

But, as I have said, this is not cause its Palace, its football in general.

Back in the eighties, we dropped down the divisions because we were skint. Clubs these days, just f*** over the people they owe money too and start again. It's got to stop.

I have no love for the top 4, or the premiership, Im a Brigton fan! But regardless of who fault it is, is grossy unfair on other clubs who live within their means, and its not like its a rare thing, its happening more and more, and now the same clubs seem to be involced more than once.

SO what happens, you clear your debets and 5 years later find yourself position. So what. we just let you go into admin again, and start again. How many more times do you want to do it? I think, and its not because it Palace, its high time the Fa stopped this happending and throw team out the league, so it will make sides stop doing it.

If its that orange twats Jordans fault, protest against him.

Yes. I would like to see Palace and any other club who do this go bust, and start again like Aldershot it, as no doubt you'll be back in the league in a few years, but why shold you screw over other business, and then carry on like nothings happened, like Southamption, Leeds, Leicester and in your case AGAIN!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
It's not hindsight. It wasn't an option in the 80's. If a club went bust, they went bust. They couldn't pull the admin stunt like clubs do now. Hence, not many clubs gambled like they do today.

FFS the Admin officer will want his own office in Selhurst soon, in readiness for the next time it happens.:US:

A couple of points.

1. We don't live within our means, over the last ten years we have lost on average £2 million a year.

2. Southampton paid off their creditors in full, so how does that mean they have screwed over other businesses?

Ah well. Hopefully the rules will change to your liking in time for your next bout of financial trouble.

Have a nice evening.

Yes i disagree with any club being liquidated.

there was never a risk of being liquidated.

the deal was already done for the club but the consortium wanted the ground at a cut price so that their investment was financially attractive and potentially lucrative.

they played hard ball and they got what they wanted.

shame about the creditors who will get next to f*** all just like last time and most likely like next time too

1] Whats the alterative? We have no ground, so until we get to Falmer we have no choice.

2] Fair play to them, but I think they are the exception to the rule, and this is only because they got taken over. They over spent to get themselves in trouble in the first place, so without their Knight in shinning armour, people would have got screwed. It's only luck they haven't.

It would be mildly amusing if these 'lifelong Palace fans' on the consortium, turned out to be developers after all, and sold the place for a massive Sainsbury's in 18 months time.
