Are you that short sighted that you don't realise it's all the greed of the premiership and the correlative effect it has down the leagues.
No. But if thats the case, surely every club would be in the same position?? Are you not thatshort sighted to see the ony club in thi position, are ones that overspent?

They gambled on glory, and lost.

Brighton were done over by Archer and co, we were done over by Agilo.

Completely ignorant post, if we had entered voluntary administration then I would agree that it was our intention to cheat. The fans, the players, the non playing staff and the potential new owners have done nothing wrong so why should we be punished because Agilo got cold feet? Clearly you are one of many ignorant bystanders who think we intended to go into admin.

Someone else said it, Brighton surely deserved the same fate then would you not agree? We're not going to be taken over by a Swiss billionaire like Southampton. Like Brighton, we're set to inherit a board who love the club in a non egotistical away which can't be said for many clubs.

If you really want CPFC to go bust, then you epitomise exactly what is wrong with football these days. I bet you cream yourself over the top 4 as well.

Completely the opposite. I feel sorry for you.

The top 4 are responsible for this, but for football to return to a more level playing field, the rest need to consolidate and not chase something that is unachievable. If a club has to go bust to realise this then so be it. Unfortunately for you it may be Palace, but it has to be someone to get clubs to start living within their means.

Chill out mate. I think you'll find it's not that we want Palace to go bust, it's just that there are too many cases of clubs spending beyond their means. And lets face it, you've done it TWICE in ten years now.

Just a thought.

It looks as if the England squad will be officially announced at 3pm, Crystal Palace's final death rattle could go widely unnoticed.

Oh well.

The title suggests otherwise mate. I've lived in Brighton for the majority of my life so I know all about Archer and Bellotti running the club into the ground. Brighton did fantastically well to get themselves out of the mess they were left in, but it wasn't without a lot of help along the way which is exactly what we are after.

I agree, as a club CPFC need to learn, but they also need the stadium. Goldberg bought the club without the ground and we went into administration. Jordan did exactly the same and inevitably it led to administration.

What really irks me is how many fans are comparing us to Southampton and co who were looking to effectively cheat and take the initial hit. That is why our situation is unique. Jordan should never of dealt with Agilo, but their cold feet put us in the situation we are in today so why should do we deserve to go bust?

There is no death rattle at 3pm. That's the time beyond which the administrator will start selling assets (players). When that happens it makes CPFC less attractive to abuyer with each sale. So yes, it is bad news for them, but it's not the end by any means.

Relax churley1 - they are negotiating. Are they going to let the club go because they have not got the ground ?

They've said all along that the purchase of the club is reliant on purchasing the ground. I'd like to be optimistic that they'd buy us anyway but it makes no financial sense with the current rent p.a.

Right. Please explain for me. How is it Agilo's fault? I genuinely haven't read every report on this story so need a full update. It what point did Palace realise they were in the shit, again?

Surely it doesn't matter whether you intended to go into admin or not, you cheated? How would you feel if you ran a building company and your competitor was undercutting you, paying himself a handsome salary, then going bust every few years to avoid paying creditors (and hence undercutting you)? This is the same situation with football clubs and Administration. I don't think many people here or across the country want to see Palace go bust out of malice, they've just had enough of this type of thing.

Also can you please explain the ground situation for me. From my (very limited) knowledge there is a stumbling block over the fact the bank does not want the new buyers getting the ground at less than market value then selling on for a profit? Why don't CPFC2010 just sign said agreement?

I don't think Southampton dumped their debt. They were in the crap and they found a buyer who paid off the creditors the full amount didn't he? If so, not the same thing as Portsmouth and Palace (who have done this before) at all.

Can someone confirm that?

You are correct - according to David Conn of the Guardian anyway:

... For others, administration meant they could be bought by new owners, who paid a fraction of the debts that were owed – except at Southampton, where last year Markus Liebherr paid Saints' debts in full...

Basically :

1. We borrowed money off Agilo (£4.5 million) repayable in installments.

2. We were served with a winding up petition by HMRC for just under £2 million.

3. The day before the petition where we had the funds to pay for it. Agilo suddenly thought they weren't going to get their next installment and put us into administration.

4. As a result, we had to sell Victor Moses for £2.5 million when we would of got atleast £4 million if it weren't for administration. We then made a lot of money from our cup run and TV money.

5. Had Agilo been patient. HMRC would have delayed the repayment which they have done to Cardiff, Southend etc and they would have got their money without the need for administration.

I've said it before, Jordan is largely to blame still for getting the club into the state it is today. But it was still Agilo who put us into administration and now they are set to profit from all of this.

Apparently it's Steve Parish and Martin Long and possibly Ron Noades who SJ hates.

He's definitely not part of the consortium but his vote in the CVA is vital as the majority of the debt owed, is to him.

Sorry, but I'm going to against the grain and say, I hope Crystal Palace go out of business.

Nothing against Palace, but clubs that run up huge debts, and then pull the plug, should not continue. Live within your means, or go bust.

I'm sure there's a lot of business and families suffering on the back of numerous football clubs spending out of control, and then going into admin. It's about time we took a step back, and let clubs go to the wall, and start again down the football pyramid. It might make the rest of them run their accounts in order.

And before people pull the old, "WHat about us" line. Our situation was completely different. We had a pair of ***** come in, and try and asset strip the club. The only reason we survived is the fans fault back. If we hadn't we would have folded, and they would have got away with it.

Pomey scum, Palace scum, Leeds, Saints fans, Leicester fans(and the list goes on) loved it when the clubs we splashing the cash and doing well, didn't see them signing petetions then, but when it goes tits up, they want everyone to rally round and help.

f*** em. Look at Southampton. Started the season on minus points, ended the season as probably the highest payers in the division, and no doubt will storm to the title next season.

Where's the justice in that?

It's time the football authorities grow some bollocks, and expelled these clubs from the league. It's the only way to stop the rest of football as seeing adminastration as a calculated gamble.

Probably in for a ban here but what the hey!
Hope you die soon c*nt.
