I think you have a good point there, but clubs do not take administration as easily as you suggest, and HMRC are being far more aggressive in relation to unpaid taxes, so often will oppose a cva scheme.
I'm not saying they take it easily, but they do know that if they do find themselves in that position, they are likely in the whole to get away with it.

If they have a threat hanging over them that they will find themselves two divisions lower, clubs might be more careful in how far they are willing to gamble. For exaple, Hull City find themseleves in thir position, and it can be discribed as nothing short of reckless what went on there. If they had the threat of dropping two further divisions, and finding themselve back in the fourth tier, would have have don what they done so readily.

It's good to see the true feelings come out & I expect there's a fair few who are disappointed by yesterday's outcome.

I think it's quite shocking that after all the support that Palace fans gave you, marching at the Goldstone Ground and readily supporting the REMF, that we have been delivered a slap in the face by 'fans' who couldn't give a little bit of support back by signing a f*cking petition.

There's been a severe lack of class shown & this will be remembered.

Talking about a severe lack of class.

A petition on "deadline" day was pointless.

And sorry for thinking a deal was always going to be done. And it was.

Thanks (again) to all Palace fans who offered support over the years. They are a credit to their (tinpot) club.

Get over yourself.

It seems to me that football financial hardship is cyclical & there's many teams who have been financially viable looking worried now.

Nothing is set in stone that this will not happen to BHAFC again so enjoy the good times whilst they last, lower league teams like yourselves are always at risk.

You would have a point if every single Palace fan had marched in support of Falmer or contributed to REMF. Problem is that is not the case. You will get people on here who wished that Palace had gone under, same is true the other way round. Get over it, enjoy your continued survival and maybe hang out with your own kind if you are going to be so easily offended.

Oh cram it, you sanctimonious old windbag.

SOME Palace fans will have marched at the Goldstone and supported REMF, just as SOME Albion fans will have signed your last-minute (and utterly pointless) token petition. On both sides, some fans won't have given a shit, and some would have actively enjoyed each others trials and tribulations.

It was quite obvious Palace were never going to be liquidated yesterday. The whole thing was a manufactured ploy to get a handful of Nigels on the streets and CPFC2010 in the news. A bit of publicity to raise awareness and apply a bit of pressure. Well done, it worked, Palace "live to fight another day". But lets not pretend you were dramatically pulled back from the brink - you wern't. If I had 5p for the number of times I've seen a deadline for a clubs existance come and go with the club muddling on in some form or another, I'd have enough by now for a bag of crisps and an Egg McMuffin.

Plenty of people on here signed your petition, some didn't. Some may have felt it rather pointless, as it was clear (to those looking in from the outside) that a deal was always going to be done (Anyone who listened to Brendan whateverhisneme is on SSN overthe weekend knew that)

The VAST majority of Brighton fans didn't want you to go bust as we want games against you on a regular basis. Who wants to be rivals with Orient or Southend?

You mention a lack of class - I think that actually sums up your club. Admin twice in a decade, 1p in the pound to Creditors, only last week 29 people losing their jobs.

You welcomed Jordan with open arms, he was your saviour - what a joke your club is.

Correct. They were rescued by a businessman giving them money, whereas we have been rescued by businessmen...er... giving us money!

How different is that!

The people we owed money to got more than 1P in the pound maybe?

We didn't screw our creditors twice in 10 years?

You're right-no differences that I can see.

Our Board of Directors were acutely aware of this fact. That's why they didn't go spunking money all over the place for players when they knew we had none-unlike your club who have managed to enjoy the good times without paying for any of it. In fact, you've even managed to get your ground back at the expense of countless businesses and individuals so don't keep coming on here telling us how bad you've had it.

Damn, I hope you lot get relegated next season. I really do.

Just because your chairman has more money than sense to afford to pay off someone elses debt makes your point invalid.

The St Johns Ambulance service was mentioned earlier in this thread. Palace fans chipped in & paid that debt in full. Not bad for a bunch of pikeys.

Token comment because surely you would anyway?

If you hadn't have done, your club definitely wouldn't have.

Did you have a whip-round for any of the other trade creditors your grubby mob have stiffed these last few years ?

Thought not.

I don't think it does. Considering the debt we had was basically owed to the board of directors who were not looking to call it in. The fact is we paid our bills and you didn't. We did this under the most trying of circumstances a 13 year fight from a genuine threat of extinction. Our tales of woe are not comparable in any way.

We were always the victims of external forces be it an asset stripping lancastrian, intransigent politicians and head in the sand NIMBYs. Obstacles were continually put in our way and we fought to overcome them. It seems to me that Palace just dug themselves a big hole and jumped in of their volition and then started screaming for everyone else to pull them out.

I signed your petition because many Palace fans helped out with our struggle and their efforts with the REMF are magnificent, those fans deserved support.

However it is you that are showing a true lack of class as you expect the taxpayer and other creditors to foot the bill for your own profligacy.
