One thing that the protest overall was effective in doing was bringing the situation to the attention of Brighton supporters who are not as well informed about events as those on this forum.
Don't under estimate the importance of that.
1. because it was Merchandising Utd
2. because everyone already knew about the racehorse dispute anyway as it's been all over the papers for weeks.
Did they gain sympathy and support or condemnation?
Suggestions of Pitch Invasions etc are totally irresponsible and really shouldn't take up too much of our time.
Yes, they may well get media attention but not for the right reasons and not for the main core of our argument. This sort of action will lose a lot of sympathy with a lot of people...
I think that this would be very difficult without a good programme collection.
Tony Le Mesmer says "Dean Simmonds" which is very close - try a different first name.
He's also spot on with Matt(hew) Edwards
but nobody has got the No 14. yet.
Clue - think about a horse!
Dear Sir
having just watched Meridian Soccer I was very disappointed to find absolutely no coverage of the Brighton fans action in support of the planning application for Falmer.
Are Meridian aware that Brighton and Hove Albion have received a set back regarding this application in the last...
Meridian Soccer has just started, they showed TB's goal in the opening sequence with the voice over saying "all teh action from around the region" - no mention of sit in.
Main match (extended highlights) is Southend vs Cambridge.
In quite a few exchanges with MP - either face to face or via e.mail his passion for the club has always shone through. I haven't always agreed with his opinion, hence the e.mails, but you cannot knock his committment.
Barrow have included the full text of Tim Carders note in their weekly bulletin "Holker Street News" and I am told that they are going to try and put it on their website.
The Barrow supporter I know has copied me on his mail to JP and he is going to encourage others to write as well.
