At times like these, we really find out who the friends of BHAFC are. Whilst some Albion greats have taken the trouble to write to Prescott (Micky Adams, BZ, Robbie Reinelt etc), it seems that one man has gone the extra mile to try and help out.

Steve Coppell has not only written himself, he has also written to numerous other managers to get them to write to Prescott. In addition to this, he's asking Sven-Goran Eriksson to write as well.

The guy clearly loves the club and I reckon it's about time we stopped the boring anti-Coppell chants that we get every f*cking week.

If we want to abuse Palace, surely it's not too difficult to update the songs to include present day personnel??

I'd also like to state that Peter Taylor, who often comes in for quite a bit of abuse, similarly seems to be doing loads to help out by writing to Prescott, getting things published on the Hull website and also getting the local press involved.

Thanks to them both. I honestly feel that, far from being the subject of abuse, they should be held in the same regard as Micky Adams, BZ etc. etc.

Football would not be football without all the rivalry.

But at times like this everyone comes together.

I am sure Palarse fans are happy to help us in our fight for a ground. I am also sure we would do the same if the situation was in reverse.

I remember going to the Wimbledon fans united day with a mate who got loads of abuse from a few Wimbledon fans because he was wearing a Palarse shirt. No need for that. All football fans come together in a clubs time of need.

We're still going to hate Palarse though.

I was always behind Coppell when he was here but he well and truly peed me off with the way he left, however if this is all true and i'm sure it is he has gone right up in my estimations again.

Good man.

Infact i'm going to use your post on the Palace board if you dont mind BG, it might persuade one or two more Palace fans to do their bit.

Thank you, all done... I have to say most of the Palace fans on their have been quite supportive, hopefully if the other unsupportive ones read the part of your post i put on their board and see 2 ex Palace greats writing off and doing their bit they too may change their minds and write in.

Anyone remember the Fans' Forum shortly after SC arrived as manager?

He said he liked the song and we should feel free to keep singing it.

???

I may be Mr sinicle here, and it is brilliant what he has done for Falmer, but seeing as he walked out on us saying that Falmer was the main reason, he HAS to be seen to be doing something.

Indeed Rowley. The best way Coppell could have helped is to have stayed with the club after DK rescued him from the managerial scrap heap and got us back into division 1, for more national exposure and to show how ridiculous the situation is, instead of taking the first better paid job that came his way after less than a year as manager here.

The fact that he is doing more than he has to is obviously a good thing, but I still don't think he's a man of integrity.

He's just a professional football manager like any other.

We'd have sacked him if he was shit, so when he gets a serious job offer he's entitled to make a choice.

Peed me off too, but that's life. Sounds like he's doing us proud now, which says a lot for him. He could just ignore the whole thing... it's not his problem, after all.

I have always had a lot of respect for Steve Coppell. Despite leaving us for Reading, I always have thought that he is one of the more honourable men in football. This action proves it
