I agree. I would much rather have a player who acknowledges that he deserves to be subbed and wants to come off rather than being allowed to stay on the pitch & correct things.
Watford was originally announced as "tickets are avaialble but if any left you can pay on the day" - this was changed to all ticket at the request of the Watford police. Given that I would think it unlikely to revert to pay on the day.

I haven't seen it again on TV but my impression was that Dean took two steps towards the ball and then turned to walk away, intentionally delaying the kick. If this is right then he deserved to get booked although generally refs don't for this.
