Re: Re: Re: This time tomorrow ...
Brilliant comment.
I agree with the comment (Danny Boy) about living for the future not the past, intend to do that but it doesn't stop me from harking back to a bit of nostaglia. On that topic, anyone know the best place to park at Gillingham?
Re: Re: This time tomorrow ...
No it isn't - you're obviously too young to remember post 1994 (?) when the top division was Div 1 and the second one was, suprisingly, the Second Division.
4 letters with "An important communication from the Albion" printed on teh outside of the envelope were on my doormat this morning. Only one more to come for the full set.
That's awareness building in a way that the £40 Notes Fund weren't able to do. Now I have to decide what to do.
No I don't believe that you did - my point was more general in so much that some people are, either on this board, on Harty's phone in or "in the pubs and clubs".
At 3:16 (which is a Biblical quotation so we might be missing the point here) on April 27th I was in a meeting at work. Does that make me a poor candidate for marching on 27/09?
Mrs Inkerman has worked at the Police College in Bramshill (close to Basingstoke) for about 10 years and reports that she has noticed a marked change over that time in the attitude of the trainees. Nowadays they seem far more excited about the prospect of getting out there and busting a few...
It is dis-heartening isn't it.
If the board do nothing they get slagged off for it. If they ask for support they get slagged off for it. If they put money in they get slagged off for it not being enough.
Strikes me that running a Football Club is a no win occupation.
I found myself in a buffet breakfast queue with Simon Weston in a Leeds hotel about 18 months ago. He was a true gent, no pretensions although it must have been bloody obvious I recognised him.
Apparently MM took it in good part and responded "Who? to the "he's injured" comment in an amicable vein and will be referring to it humourously in his programme column on Saturday. I have to say I didn't think that he was too impressed at the time.
How much does the fact that the Forty Notes fund was organised by supporters whereas the current appeal is direct from the club influence the potential level of support?
Do we know who will be policing the Conference? will it be completely the Sussex force or will others be brought in to supplement them? if the Met is involved then look out for trouble.
