He is a good commentator. It would be good to have a Brighton fan as a commentator but what would prefer, a Brighton fan who cant commentate for toffee or someone who has a "soft spot" for us and is also bloody good at what he does??

I've supported the Albion over 30 years and could name hundreds of Albion players past and present but I can honestly say that the name David Savage does not ring any bells.

But then, we can't all possibly remember everybody whos ever put on the stripes

So he didn't remember some shite journeyman who played a handful of games for us. Big f***ing deal.

So what was the gate in the televised FA Cup first round match against Rushden 3 years ago then, hove born&bred ?

If you can't tell me in the next 2 minutes, then why don't you f*** off and support Palace? :nono:

Just checked with Albion A-Z. 22 Davids/Daves played for the Albion up to 1997, but no David Savage.

I don’t remember David Savage playing for the Albion.

I think Harty does a good job with the commentary.

It appears as though Dave Savage did play for us. We signed him from Kilkenny City in March 1991 and released him in May 92 where he then joined Longford Town. I don't think he ever made a first team apperance in the 14 months he spent with us. I don't see how not knowing this is a sackable offence for a radio presenter, I had to look at soccerbase to find out.

I am exiled temporarily in Cornwall and noticed he made various inaccuracies about the Albion which I thought some of you would have spotted

don't talk crap - he's a good commentator.

I don't remember David Savage - should I be sacked as a supporter?

No but you should be sacked for not living in Brighton under the laws of supporting club as written by Hove B&B

I don't remember Dave Savage playing for the Albion. Yes, there is a greater onus on professional reporters/broadcasters, they should prepare before the match, but the bottom line is that in a contest between your average commentator and a total one-club statto nerd with a self-righteous streak, there's only one winner. Their bigger job is to call it properly.
