I think a similar thing happened at Bristol Rovers ground when the Rugby club built a new stand (before Rovers moved in). The stand was built too close to the pitch so despite the steep seating angle you can't see the near touchline. I think they improved things by moving the pitch a bit...
But remember Gus is also trying to create a 'development squad' so maybe he wants a young striker with potential to bring on over the course of the season. Assuming Murray ,Barnes, and another 'proven' striker yet to sign are 1st team, that would leave Holyroyd, Barker + 1 other (Erik) for...
Turienzo was signed on the back of a video of him playing and a dodgy recommendation from an agent. These two guys have been actually scouted & watched by Gus and his assistant playing in the Argentinian league. Thats the big difference. In Gus we trust....
Where will he be playing next year? Withdean?
Premiership striker, South American, spent time in Spanish league, out of contract. Ticks all the Poyet boxes!
NOTE:- This is just me speculating and is very unlikely not to happen!
He'll get sent off in his first premiership game, dropped to the reserves, pick up an injury, upset his neighbours with loud music, and be back on loan with us by Christmas.
A fit, healthy, motivated and non-suspended Glenn Murray is capable of scoring 25 goals in a season. 31 goals in 63 league games for the Albion and has scored at a ratio of 1 in every 2 games at all the clubs he's played at. Problem solved if we can get him playing in most of our games next...
Byrne and Small. Best true striking partnership we had at the Albion for many years. Nelson and Bremner were good, but that was mainly due to Nelson being brilliant fo a season. Don't think we have ever had a real good partnership up front since.
He looked OK to me. Held the ball up well and did alot of running with little support in the first half. Disallowed goal & tried an overhead kick that was not far away (that should impress the flair lovers). Could do with a bit more muscle on him, but could be worth another look.
Cox looked...
Phase 1 = Filling in the corners would add about 1000 seats per corner.
Phase 2 = A second tier on the East stand (which has been designed for) would add another 3000. So we could push the capacity towards 30,000 without too much extra work.
I've seen a plan of the East stand with two tiers a...
11 owners sounds dodgy. Your average 12 year old car might have 4 or 5 owners, but 11 would ring some alarm bells. Whats the service history like? A new MOT is some comfort factor, but does not mean its not a lemon? You might as well take take a punt on it if you have £3K to play with on a...
Just been checking out the online ticket site and it looks like there could be a reasonable crowd tomorrow. W block (East stand behind the goal) is now 'limited' as well as A block in South stand. In fact the only area that looks empty is J block. Family stand should be sold out due to cheap...
