Cat called Diesel.
It is a rescue cat, and found in the train sidings yard... hence the name given by the shelter, which we decided to keep.
Previously we had twin cats from the same litter. We couldn't agree on names for them, so we temporarily called them Alpha and Beta.

My Nan had a dog she called Samantha. No idea why.
But during the naming process, my uncles proposed that the white dog, with black and brown splodges, should be called "Snow on the mountains with the rocks showing through".
I rather liked this approach, so persisted in calling the dog Snowy, much to my Grandmothers chagrin.
