We also had a white cat called Omo, something to do with a washing powder that I believe is no longer made.

Suuure, that's what they told you. Probbly had more to do with the looks "Omo" gave the other neighbourhood Toms

Hadn't thought about Omo washing powder lo these many years....Do they still make Daz over there? Our gaff had a fine collection of London 60s place mats that came free with Daz, lasted years and years.

As for amusing pet pairs, when living in Colorado 20 odd years ago, we took in 2 feral kittens born in a snowstorm in our barn. One had a frozen tail we were advised to snap the end off to stop it decomposing. Which worked and the three-quarters stubby tail was a great look as it turned out.

Anyway...I named them Bradford & Bingley which appealed to me as no-one had a clue what the significance was. I just wish I'd read this thread before then or else I'd have gone the Fourshillings and Tuppence route instead...

They are beautiful moggies. My aunt has a British blue called Harold names after my grandfather, lovely cats.

The missus named our cats Kinky (that one always gets a smile at the vet's) after Kinky Friedman, the country singer, novelist and failed Texas gubernatorial candidate, and Rambam, after Steven Rambam, Kinky's dodgy private investigator mate in his novels.
