What are your cats/ dogs called, please?

A cat called Charlie, because he has big feet

Female cat - Pansy because of the markings on her face

Two previous cats were Millie and Charlie, the two we have now are Ben and Branston ( because he is full of beans ) ah well please yourselves!

My sister in law- a cat-lover in extremis- is trying to persuade me to get a particular cat from the Cats Protection charity place.

Which is fine, as I'd rather home one that needs somewhere to live. But it appears to be called Petal. I'm not having a cat called Petal.

The cat's fine, but it'll need to be re-christened. I've told her that if I can't rename it something of my choice- like Archbishop Desmond Tutu, for example- then the deal's off.

There has also been Gizmo, she was a cute cat but deaf Grandma always called her Flymo!

I think classic West Indian cricketers- or, in fact, any old-school cricketers- could be a goldmine of potential names.

My mum got a massive 3 legged Tom Cat from a home, they called him Fu-Fu.

Mother was having none of that, so we named it after Arundel Breweries fine tipple Old Knucker, (by virtue of how it could make you legless).

When Knucks had been particularly naughty, killing a Wildebeest etc, we'd call him Fu-Fu and he'd look you in such a way you'd know he was planning your murder.

Friend of mine named all his cats after cricketers. He had a Sachin and, I'm pretty sure, a Lara.

Personally I'm a big fan of giving cats / dogs fairly routine names like Simon, Robert or Susan.

(no offence to any Simons, Roberts or Susans).

If I got a dog, I think I'd call him KEITH.
