Who asked you, you effeminate fat waste of space?

Did I say I didn't throw around insults? I love sending them your way - it's what you're there for. I just find TCB's method of debate on subjects that needn't involve grief often involve grief.

Opening gambits like 'pathetic' and 'berk'. Unnecessary.

So f*** off yourself, shithead.

Oooh STRESSY :D

Certainly.

As the pre-season matches went on, the team - as a whole - should have been improving, in terms of fitness and team-play, their playing qualities. e.g. positional sense, passing, team-work, work-rate - all the stuff they know about of course, but could have gone rusty about during their summer break.

As each game went on, most, if not all players were getting to 'match-fitness' levels. Not all.

What worried me was that, each time Livermore played, I felt he neither helped the defence, nor the attack, often had the game pass him by and was generally ineffective, and didn't contribute as much as he could or should have at a time when this could not really be said of the other midfielders.

When he was taken off, there was a marked improvement in the tempo, style and quality of the Albion's game. At first, I dismissed it as being an abberation. Unfortunately, it happened in all three games I saw him in.

I'm not saying he's shit - far from it, I'm sure he's a high-quality acquisition - merely that from the way that the rest of the squad has played alongside him and without him, Livermore doesn't either look match-fit, or isn't interested or isn't good enough, and that a midfield or El-Abd/Thomson, Fraser/Thomson, Virgo/Thomson or even (yes, really) Mayo/Thomson looks a better prospect.

Just my opinion, like.

With no rudeness. :)

Everybody is entitled to their opinion. But I don't think it's fair to make it off the back of a couple of friendlys. Forster's fitness was questionable in a lot of those games. And, if I'm honest, many, if not the majority of players didn't look too good either, except McCleod who looked consistently very good, in my opinion. Livermore may turn out the way you have viewed him, but for now I'm going to see.

Not at all. I think the most ridiculous thing you've said on this thread is that Mayo could possibly play in midfield. However, as you've seen Mayo play, and everyone's entitled to their opinion, I'm not calling that 'pathetic.' I disagree, but I see no problem with you having that opinion.

When it comes to having a problem with a player who has never actually played for us (bar a few meaningless kickabouts in Burgess Hill or wherever), then I do find that pathetic and it would seem I'm not the only one. You know damn well that if I had slagged off a new signing without seeing him you'd have been in a like a shot to stick the boot in.

I find your totally unjustified sense of superiority in arguments (particularly when, from what I can tell, you're arguing with people who see a lot more of the albion than you) unnecessary.

I HAVE NOT SLAGGED OFF LIVERMORE. f***ing hell.

You say I have a right to an opinion, then dismiss it as 'pathetic'. You then continue (in this 'debate') with unnecessary name-calling (I'm not about Algae here - he's different). Then you say my opinion is now carrying 'an unjustified sense of superiority'? If I'm 'superior', where is your position, relative to this?

You then say 'I'm not the only one [to share this opinion]?' So what, are opinions arrived at by a democracy now?

Somehow, with these mixed messages, I'm not convinced you do respect my right to an opinion.

Agreed.

Admittedly, I was mainly talking of midfielders, and more specifically, the central midfield pairing (something that has been talked about many times on here over the years).
