If we won every game we would win the league.

This is one game that we lost 3-2 which on a different day we could of won by 3-4 goals, were were unlucky, there is 3 points separating 11 teams between 8'th-19'th.

I'd be willing to bet a substantial amount with you we are upper mid half of the table come the end of the season.

US, if you are so sure of yourself, can you please put your money where your mouth is? Simple bet - Upper or Lower half of the table. I'm willing to have first go and put £20 on us being in the upper half.

Luckily our chairman seems to be knowledgable about football and will be able to see that we are only 2 or 3 players short of being a good side. Slade knows what our problems are and I trust him to fix them. Keep the faith.

Same old same old.

From you, yes. Over reaction.

I can't believe I've even bothered to reply.

We lost in the last minute of an absorbing game. We were on top for the majority and - apart from a few bad errors - should have won.

I'm looking forward to Rovers on Saturday.

Despite all the condemnation there is a small grain of truth in what miseryguts Spielberg is saying.

We are clearly a better team than we were at this time last year, but the stats are a bit troubling, 8 points from 8 games, 3 defeats out of 4 games at home despite not playing anyone of real consequence. Our next two games are Bristol Rovers and MK Frans, without wanting to be defeatist we could very well lose both, and then things start surely would start to get edgy.

The club is going places off the field but nowhere on it. We need to be in the mix not limping along at the rear like some 3 legged Pony.

.

3 legged pony ? Did you have few quid on it ?

Err......yes it does.

Does it? We are consistently told that we have a healthy budget. A healthy budget would not mirror renting an athletics stadium, no assets and making obscene losses each season. Do you really think our general league position mirrors our budget? Did we not invest heavily last season? There are plenty of teams that live within (reasonably) their means and finish higher than us. Do you honestly think that we are in the bottom half of the league when it comes to wages?

I think we have an average budget for this division for the last few seasons, last season we finished 16th, which was probably slightly below where our budget would put us.

This season our budget is slightly better, but that does not mean that players will mesh in the first 8 games, or that we have a devine right to be in this division.

Bof. it seems the bright lights of the big city have jaundiced your view. I have honestly seen enough promise this season to think that a change of fortune may not be too far away. Don't lose faith now.

technically, we are not very good team..that is obvious.

We are good in patches, we have individually talented players....it is up to salad to make sure they all gel.

I sometimes wonder about the wisdom of buying players who are not good enough to play for the teams they are signed from....maybe in our position we really need to look at developing home grown talent...the likes of Steve Brinkhurst etc....

We have been aiming for the Championship ever since we got the green light for Falmer. By that, I would imagine that we have a decent budget compared to many a team in this division.

Oh, I do not think we are far off being a decent team, but I don't think we can run on the 'shit stadium' excuse for long. As mentioned above, we are aiming for the Championship and we will be spending a considerable sum that exceeds our income. An investment for the future. This excuse was viable for a long time over the last two decades, but we are moving on from those.

I am not one to get carried away with the relatively poor results we have endured. The season is 46 games long, not 10.

I suspect we have only seriously been aiming for the championship since Tony Bloom became chairman. Now how do you do that quote 2 people malarkey?

Enough of this defeatist talk already.

I'm living thousands of miles away and am really looking forward to getting back to watch the Albion play sometime soon. The fact that one or two of the NSC habitual bitchers, moaners and whiners can't even be bothered to get along to support the side they claim to support is shameful. I couldn't care less how long you claim to have supported them or what you did 10, 20 or 30 years ago, the club needs your support now.

If you genuinely can't afford it, fair enough. But if you can afford it, then support the club through thick and thin. That's what real supporters do - not sit on the internet firing off criticisms when you can't even be bothered to attend a game once a fortnight. And if you're going to give your money away, give it to the Albion - not the bookmakers.

It sounded like we were particularly unlucky to lose Saturday's game. I'm sure we'll probably win at least one in the last minute sometime this season to balance it out.

In Forster, we've got one of Division 1's top goalscorers. We've scored more goals than Swindon, Millwall, Brentford, Walsall, Exeter, Oldham, Carlisle and Hartlepool - all who are currently above us in the table. Sort the defence out and we'll have a decent enough team for this division.

Get off the internet, get along to Withdean and get behind the lads.

If your browser allows it (can't do it on aol at work) click the button to the right of the quote button. It should turn orange. Click that button on each of the posts you want to respond to, then when you've selected them all, clic 'post reply' just after the last post. (Or click 'quote' on the last post you want to quote)
