Time to face facts - We are not a very good football team

Southend were fortunate to get the points today. We created enough chances to have won several games, and on another day a couple of those would have found the net instead of skimming or hitting the woodwork (with their keeper beaten all ends up each time).

Frustrating defeat, but we are certainly not playing utter SHITHOUSE like we were this time last season. Unlike Adams, Salde is actually building a team here. Its not going to click overnight, but the signs are generally encouraging (unless you expected us to be in the top 4 by now I suppose).

We have finally discovered some nice movement, and look OK in attack, but our Defence is utter GASH.

Elphick capitulates faster than an Italian tank regiment, and Mohammed Al-Abd looks totally bewildered every time the ball bounces within 5 yards of his lumpen clueless form.

We are missing our two fullbacks, once we've got them fit again I can see us becoming more consistant. I've no worries about any other positions in the team, we'll be alright.

Agree. We can't get away with playing four centre halfs for too long. Affects attack and defence too much.

We are very poor considering the investment that has been made. That must be down to Slade. His signings are not very good really are they ?. If it was not for Forster, God bless him we would be relegation certainties.

"we are very poor considering the investments we have made" , i bet you've heard that one loads over the last year

The league table does not lie. An average squad at best and an average/poor manager.

I think we are at our level near the relegation zone / bottom half.

Nothing to see this season.

Lets hope we make a challenge next season but everyone's interests wanes forever.

Were you there today, Uncle? We were excellent for much of the game, hit the woodwork three (?) times, lots of very near-misses. And yes, the usual sloppy defending. But that does not make us a shit football team. Far from it :)

29/73*100 = 39.73%.

Less than 40% of our home games are wins for the visiting team, so if you back the away team every time you will lose more frequently than you win

Not if the price is an average of 3/1.

Patience is something I DO NOT HAVE. Anyine who knows me knows I get wound up waiting at a traffic light for 30 seconds. I wany success. I am tired of supporting a team at the arse end of the 3rd division. Its does not excite me. We are just going through the motions this season.

The objective of Bloom and Slade is " give them a few scraps to keep their interest going but lets hold back and huff and puff to 19th again ".

I believe we will HAVE to push for promotion next season but Slade has had a little bit of pocket money to play with but the serious cash will be out next Summer when Bloom will have installed his man, his vision and DEMAND he gets us promoted in time for Championship football at Falmer.

Championship football in the first season at Falmer would add 5000 to the season tickets.

Bloom is no mug and is not going to invest £ 90 000 000 to see us playing the likes of Carlisle and Wycombe at Falmer. This season Bloom will give Slade just enough rope to hang himself.

Come up people we are 19th in the league with the worst home record ( yet again ) with 5 defeats in 9 games and 19 goals conceded. The new signings have been generally rubbish and Dickenson has 2 goals in 9.

This club is going NOWHERE with the managerial set up and a set of supporters so happy with such mediocrity. Its a JOKE. No wonder CPFC take the piss out of us.

Show some AMBITION !.

I agree that Bloom will make sure we are in the championship by Falmer. However the rest of your post is utter shit US.

The new players are rubbish? Tunnicliffe, Bennett, A.Davies, Dicker and Crofts are all alot better than what we had last season.

The club is going nowhere? New stadium on the way, Chairman with money who is putting together and developing the club as a business and making us more professional and money invested in squad with (as you said) alot more to come may be in Jan but defo next season.

Actually now I have replied I strikes me that you may be :fishing: as no one can possibly be as stupid and pointlessly negative after an unlucky defeat caused by the stupidity of Tommy Elphick as you seem to be

The club is going places off the field but nowhere on it. We need to be in the mix not limping along at the rear like some 3 legged Pony.

I believe Slade is on borrowed time and his stats are not in his favour.

I think it's a bit early to say he is on borrowed time. However what is for sure is he needs a good 5 or 6 game run to make sure Bloom does not start sharpening the axe.

I like RS and believe he COULD do the job but I am not totally confident that he will. I want him to but all the time that managers like Coppell are out there some sections of fans will be quick to put pressure on him when things go wrong. Also with the new chairman, money and stadium it would be easier to entice up and coming managers to the club. The likes of Andy Scott would be getable.
