Ukraine pushing forward again in Kursk according to multiple sources including BBC.
This could be a ruse. Seeing the equipment apparently used, it looks like a limited attack.

A larger operation from elsewhere is imminent maybe?

Possibly trying to show they are on the front foot (Ukraine's been very slowly losing small amounts of territory in Donbas ) before Trump gets into power 🤔.

But Ukraine can't just be on the front foot because they think it's good optics, if they don't have the manpower available. Russia can do that, because they can afford to just throw away 50,000 troops in a gamble to look powerful, but Ukraine can't afford to waste life.

I've had success with that tactic. Sometimes tell Mrs T I'm going to grab her bum, she drops her hands to defend and I manage a good boobie grab.

Yeah I agree - going into Kursk in the first place was a gamble, and I dunno if it has or will pay off. It's certainly killed a lot of Russians but probably too many Ukrainians as well. And hasn't noticeably slowed down Russia in the East.
Military 'experts' still seem divided on how good an idea it was.

Obviously I don't have any inside info, but I get the feeling Kursk has cost Russia many many more lives than Ukraine, and has been worth it for both that reason, for drawing Russians away from other areas, and also for the optics.

Absolutely. It will have effected Russian operations elsewhere. Also, Ukraine want to use Kursk as a bargaining tool when it comes to peace talks.

Nice that the BBC have got back to normal after that out of the blue, rogue, outlier report recently that the war was going badly for Ukraine. I still don't know what happened with that report which seemed to be written by the kremlin.
Although this from the Guardian article about Kursk

Ukraine seem to be getting quite good at working out who and where these fuckers are:

"Nagayko, 28, is a graduate of St. Petersburg University of Aerospace Instrumentation and the Mikhailovsky Artillery Military Academy.

"Most notably, his unit was responsible for the 5 October 2023 missile strike on a café in Hroza village during a memorial service killed 59 civilians, including an eight-year-old boy."

Russia’s fake ‘terrorism’ trial with death sentence guaranteed against 61-year-old Ukrainian with cancer

Instead of receiving proper medical treatment and spending time with his children and grandchildren, Mykola Oliynyk is held in a Tagenrog prison notorious for its horrific conditions and torture of Ukrainian prisoners

It's looking more and more like Ukraine really has been betrayed by the west, who are guilty of protecting their interests in the short term, whilst ignoring the long term implications of a Russian Federation victory. We stand accused of rewarding Russia for unprovoked genocide against a peaceful neighbour, and forcing Ukraine to negotiate from a position of weakness. It's shameful.

Zelensky does indeed make a very valid point.

Putin, like all Russians, has never been through the process of liberal democracy, with free elections producing elected governments of, for and by the Russian people.

Concepts of peace, negotiation, compromise and diplomacy are alien to him. Indeed, they threaten his provenance, legitimacy, mandate, and ultimately, his life.

Have we (or are we) forced them to negotiate?

Not yet in reality, but many words have been said by Trump (🤮), Vance (🤮), Musk (🤮🤮)... I think that's what Binney was alluding to.
But indeed, Ukraine cannot be forced to negotiate, although certain people hold cards they may play.

According to Mush, civil war in the UK inevitable. Not sure what time it starts and which side I'm supposed to be on though?
