Time will tell
Indeed. I've not really watched Cashin at all but been very impressed with McConville when I've watched the U21s online and when he came on at Norwich. Can only think he wanted regular first team involvement and saw Cashin as the blocker to that.

Wow! Just wow! Hope we've got a 25% sell on clause or a buy back option..

This transfer window is so bizarre!.

Wish him all the best.. seems all the young talent want to jump ship from our manager!

Wouldn't it be easier to get rid of the clown FH? And get an experienced manager who will develop these youngsters?

its not rocket science to work out that the club recruitment policy has been changed. Buying 4/5 players for 200m where previously we had been introducing the U21s means that this lad and probably a few others decided they need to move to play.

More likely he didn't want a new contract so we have to offload now
Yeah - can't see it as any more complicated than that.

Sell now, get a modest fee but lots of upside potential with the sell-on clause, or see him walk away in the summer.

The issue was letting him get down to six months left in the first place but, in truth, how many of us had even heard of him three months ago?

Absolutely. Just trying to work out the "chicken and egg" between us getting in Cashin because we knew he wouldn't sign a contract or he doesn't want to sign a contract because there's more competition for the first team now we signed a new CB.

I think I must have a negative frame of mind currently, and even more so after the Forest debacle, but the Cashin vs McConville doesn’t feel progression….

@dazzer6666 and yourself have probably nailed it, contracts, first team football etc….

Nah. That was a once-in-a-blue-moon opportunistic transfer window where we had the cash and other clubs were stuffed by PSR, and the players we signed were still development plays, not oven-ready in the main, just a bit further along their paths than we're used to. We're still signing young players.

Do you really think it is FH sanctioning these transfers?

considering how weak we are at the back. This is disappointing as had hoped he was going to start stepping up after appearing composed in the cup.

Cashin potentially could be a good signing though
