when did i say it was acceptable :salute: anyway it was done in retaliation after a white pensioner was beaten senseless by a vicious RACIST asian

I suppose you think him being beaten up is acceptable?

Exactly. Much easier just to not use it at all, just in case somebody does take offence. Its the same with a lot of things. Some ginger haired people i've met take offence at being called 'ginge' or something, silly i know but they say that because its used at all means that the person is trying to offend. Weak exaample i know but true none the less.

I quite agree. I seethe when I hear people with long hair being called "gypo" or "where's your caravan?" I come into contact with many gypsies/Romanyes in the course of my work and although many live in caravans I haven't yet met one with long hair! I guess, therefore, it is new age travellers who are the subject of the comparison!

I find any derogatory remark aimed at someone's appearance offensive, in fact as much so as racism. Sadly, ridiculing people because they are fat, short, tall, referring to them as a freak, or any other such insulting comments, is insensitive and unnecessary. Some people might find it funny but I guess the majority of recipients don't.

I think it is being blinkered not to acknowledge that racism is a two way thing and that there are people on either side who are intollerant of the other. All I will say is that the black and asian community probably have more reason to be racist after the ignorance and bad treatment they have endured over the centuries. Hopefully, and I believe it has, this will diminish over the years but you will never get rid of it completely.

Here we go, you sound like all the BNP supporters Ive ever met. You come out with all the same arguments. Of course I dont think that beating up anyone is acceptable, but i can understand why 2nd generation asians sick of watching their parents being abused and beaten up day in day out have decided to fight back and not play the meek and cowering 'paki' routine. If a pensioner got done over that is of course completly wrong but white people have been paki bashing for years and ive never seen white C18 burberry ****s marching in white areas against that.

The Asians themselves have given out bad treatment to other Asians munster monch.

The Sikhs hate the Pakistani's and both hate the Hindu's. This is why towns with large Asian communities keep to specific areas or ghetto's

So you wish Zamora had been sent to Tobago on the next plane then do you? Tell that to all your mates at the next NSC meet up and see if they post about how funny you were on here the next day. You can post all the smilies you want, the point is is the BNP is made up of so called ex nazi's, jew hating racist fuckwits and if you align yourself with them f*** off IMO.

Do you really mean that berkshire?. Have you really never met a black or asian person that you have got on with, and do you really believe they should be ejected from the country because they happen to be a different colour? or is it just that you behave like this as 'one of the lads' and follow the crowd.

Did you support Bobby Z, and do you support Leon Knight and Michel Kuipers and if so how do you reconcile that?

I'm interested

It can depend on where you live and attitudes of people as most places are diffrent.

But must admit most are quality people but you get the minority as is the same with us.

Time to resign your commission - there's nothing sensible about this.

Rather than the lexis, look at the grammar of the sentence 'I would rather be a Paki than a Turk'.

It sets up a hierarchy, presumably based on national stereotypes, between Turks and Pakistanis. Why would you not want to be a Pakistani? What is the relevance of preferring to be a Turk? Is it so surprising or odd that you would want to be a Turk (rather than a national of another country)?

What has that to do with Race?? You are talking of nationalities. Who would prefer to be of a certain nationality than another. Yes it is an insult aimed at Turkish fans.

Bollocks. It starts from an assumption that racism is acceptable. It uses a term which is deliberately chosen to be offensive to South Asian people in general (not just citizens of Pakistan) and it insults Turkish people by ranking them lower than the targets of the classic racism perpetrated by street thugs in the heartlands of BNP/NF/etc support.

If you don't understand that, you've been asleep for forty years.

Let's re-write that:-

"it was done in retaliation after a white pensioner was beaten senseless by a vicious RACIST nineteen year old"

Is that the basis on which Fridge Man would justify retaliatory attacks on other nineteen year olds in general?

I didnt write nineteen year old i dont know where you got that from?

Anyway if someone beat up your grandad i would hope you would go and retaliate i know i would and besides in a way i suppose you could claim that the stoke lads were standing up against racism in Oldham:D

What would have said if he was angl0-saxon?

I am glad you don't use 'coloured', its just plain lazy and complicite to ignorance.

First if you having a natter to someone why should their race, nationality. colour of skin be important?

You lot should start living in a major mix race area, your perspectives would change and I hope ypu would start appreciating different cultures, their strengths, strong morals, and some of the crap they and we all have to put up with.

I think the point was that they didn't just target the asians that committed the attack. What Lord B is saying (I think) is that if an old man was beaten up by some nineteen year olds would it be fair to take revenge on all nineteen year olds.

For your information Lord B, I've already been over that with others on page two of this thread. Yes I know all about the word and its history. I was following on from there and didn't want to type the same stuff as I had to write before. Tell me what the race of Turkey is. Tell me that If someone saw a Turkish person in the street, they would pick on them because of skin colour. For example if Scotland play England. Scottish and English fans would shout and abuse eachother indicriminately. England play FYROM and the Black Players get abuse simply because of their skin colour. Which is because of nationalism and which because of racism.
