Question to the "we were awful all of last season and fluked all 69 points" brigade

Wrong Wilkins took us through the transitional period and had to introduce his young and inexperienced players but he got on with it and then got the sack for finishing 7Th there is no justice-Knight need replacing and as soon as people see it the better he is the one that has f*cked up so he should pay the price not Adams.

No- one but Knight and Wilkins knows why he lost his job. from the outside it seems a bit harsh (although persoanlly, the football Wilkins dished up in the second half of the seaaon was some of most unenjoyable games I have suffered for a long time).

The extremes this season have been more pronounced ( beating Man City, Leiccester and Millwall - losing to Yeovil, Walsall) and some decision to seem odd ( letting Lynch go out on loan and yet perservering with Hawkins).

Part of the problem this season is that we only have two goalscoring forwards in the squad and they have both attracted time out of the team through injury and suspension that we can ill afford - hence the flogging of Virgo up front.

We still lack a creative midfielder who can "unlock" defences and the full backs are too clo when attachked by people withe pace on the flanks.

Adams sounded mightily hacked off with saturday's "performance" at Carlisle

At the end of the day, we're sitting in 15th place, that's 5 clear of the relegation zone, not world-beaters but shown we're capable of putting on a performance. Given that Micky is only a few months into the job I'm optimistic enough to think he will improve on the poor start to this season and we'll sit around lower mid table.

For whatever reasons Wilkins was sacked - get over it. It's academic to keep bringing him up and saying how things were so much rosier when he was in charge. He isn't anymore and isn't likely to be anytime soon. Yes you're right to have a moan about him going at the time, but to keep barking on about it isn't going to help anyone.

We were terrible after Carlisle scored on Saturday - the guy sitting behind me was from Newcastle and only sees a few games per season. He described it as seeing the individual and collective confidence suddenly draining away. Draw your own conclusions from what you see but I think most of those who went to Carlisle will worry having seen such a performance from the players and management.

I hope as has been mentioned elsewhere that Micky will give them a right good kick up the arse because of it and they come out fighting at Hartlepool tomorrow night.

???

Brighton 3-0 Crewe - February

Brighton 1-0 Oldham - February, a class performance!

Brighton 4-2 Gillingham - March

Brighton 1-0 Doncaster - March, another fine performance

Unbeaten at home for a while in the 2nd half of last season. Granted we weren't great away but we were WINNING at least.

I know it's not particularly relevant, but seeing how someone posted something similar and just in case it hasnt been mentioned any where else; Adams went absolutely f***ing mental in the changing room after the game. The players had never seen anything like it before.

I should hope so too!!

Although I've been told he sometimes leaves the team talks to Dean White :thud:

What is your source anyway?

Your right that i should forget it.

But would you if you were in Deano position 20 years of Albion Service and then you get the job you really wanted and you start to build a squad of youth and old heads with the aim to get us into Falmer in the Championship and then your legs are cut away from you from a relatively new boy (Knight) because he can.
I don't want Adams Sacked as that would be another waste of money just like the sacking of Wilkins it's not as if we can afford it.

It was a brainless decision and Knight should take the rap for it after all he is way beyond his sell by date.
But this is just my opinion i can't stand People who stomp all over people just for his own needs he should have based it on the fans view he has always preached in the past he listens to us, but does he i would almost say he is out of the Harry Rednapp school of Bullshit.

I said "..............................players and management" btw.

eg: The half-time substitution of Cox, whilst his delivery from corners (2) had been poor, freed up Carlisle's right side mid-fielder who then tormented Richards for the remainder of the game.

Simon Morgan says supporters should be more tolerant of our slow start,he must have the largest pair of rose tinted spectacles ever.A terrible home record despite playing any number of teams around the foot of the league finds us with little hope of matching last seasons points, also the standard of play from both sides has been poor, If Withdeans seating capacity had been larger gates I would estimate would be around 3,500, its the season ticket holders who are boosting the gates, but they dont really have a choice after paying up in advance, I cant see so many making the same decision next season to watch another term in Div 1.

What people like Chesney Christ can't seem to realise is that Micky is taking us through a transitional period. No it's not been great, but please shut the f*** up until we're either bottom of the league or at least the season is over. Give the guy some time i.e. a year, to get HIS team settled then judge if we're making progress.

But there is no transition required. How can you STILL not understand that? All we needed to do was build a little on our performances from last season. This whole idea of starting again from scratch is utter tosh. Not needed.

Firstly I am as disappointed as anyone and people have a right to be pissed off with the performances so far this season. When i was talking about tolerance, I was suggesting that under a different manager, there would not be so much negativity around. The fact it is Micky makes people think that based on his previous success with us, it will just continue once he re-joined us, which is simply not how it works.

Come along do keep up. Different managers have different ideas. Micky obviously wasn't happy and so would like his own team. It's not that hard to comprehend is it?

For whatever reason, the quality in this division last season was piss-poor. 69 points flattered us immensely. Wilkins would not have got anywhere near the same total this season. In fact, he'd probably be about where Micky is now.

I think not having Butters this season has had a major impact. Our defence is suddenly seriously vulnerable to somebody running straight at them. They flap and f*** up.

.

But on his current judgement calls, would Micky have got anywhere near 69 points last season?

Yeah, its fairly hard to comprehend that a manager would feel we need to make wholesale changes to a side that had just finished 7th.

Perhaps he realised, being more experienced than Wilkins, that the side as it stood wouldnt be good enough for what looked to be going to bea more difficult season. Didnt Peter Taylor leave us when we got to the Championship for the self same reason, he didnt think the side was going to be good enough for the Championship.
