Question to the "we were awful all of last season and fluked all 69 points" brigade

How about the fact that both Kuipers and Forster had extraordinary seasons last year which they haven't managed to repeat so far this year?
The home game against Hartlepool in April was as bad a performance as any I've ever seen (apart, possibly, from Blackpool the previous year) in 40+ year of following Brighton football. That's what cooked Wilkin's goose...

Am I missing something here? Do Manchester United play wonderfully every single game of every single season? I think everybody agrees that at times, we looked bad under Wilkins. But at times we also looked good. My opinion this season is similar - only we've looked WORSE when we've been bad and we have ALLEGEDLY better players who I'm sure we're paying more money to!

the list to chose from is.....

Crewe 1 - 2 Brighton - opening day
Cardiff 1 - 0 Brighton - Carling Cup
Tranmere 2 - 0 Brighton
Gillingham 1 - 0 Brighton
Brighton 1 - 2 Yeovil
Swansea 0 - 0 Brighton
Brighton 0 - 0 Bristol Rovers
Brighton 1 - 1 Walsall
Brighton 0 - 1 Leeds
Cheltenham 1 - 1 Brighton - FA Cup

This time last year we had 7 wins, 3 draws, 5 defeats = 24 points

We lost to Crewe on the opening day and im pretty sure Bournemouth away where we won 2-0 should be somewhere in that list.

I agree with your point and I am also disappointed this season....but for argument's sake:

Tranmere (A), Gillingham (A), Yeovil (H)

I appreciate there are only 3, but these weren't particularly clever performances

I thought Yeovil were too good on the day, and justly deserved their win. There are times when am opposing team is just going to click, and win fair and square.

What people like Chesney Christ can't seem to realise is that Micky is taking us through a transitional period. No it's not been great, but please shut the f*** up until we're either bottom of the league or at least the season is over. Give the guy some time i.e. a year, to get HIS team settled then judge if we're making progress.

Northampton away.

I also thought it embarrassing that we sneaked away with a point after such a tactically inept display at Sixfields; lucky Kuipers went for that wave 'n wander late on to give their centre forward such a challenging header into the empty net.

Northampton is on my "forget" list with Bristol Rovers, Orient, Scunthorpe, Yeovil, Leeds, Hereford and (or course) Carlisle - nearly 50% of our league games to date. Don't remember seeing a positive display from the Albion at Peterborough either.

Wrong Wilkins took us through the transitional period and had to introduce his young and inexperienced players but he got on with it and then got the sack for finishing 7Th there is no justice-Knight need replacing and as soon as people see it the better he is the one that has f*cked up so he should pay the price not Adams.

I may accept 23rd. But seriously does anyone think we're looking like relegation fodder?

If we keep playing like we have done ALL season (Milwall & 2nd half of Leicester as exceptions), then yes we could well go down.

Believe it. NO team is too good to get pulled into the drop zone, especially not us!

I'm not naive enough to think that we're too good. Just confident we'll win enough to stay safe

But as things currently stand. There is nothing to suggest that we won't end up battling relegation.

Given the form and performances of our team this season, we look MUCH more likely to be relegated than promoted.

We were terrible after Carlisle scored on Saturday - the guy sitting behind me was from Newcastle and only sees a few games per season. He described it as seeing the individual and collective confidence suddenly draining away. Draw your own conclusions from what you see but I think most of those who went to Carlisle will worry having seen such a performance from the players and management.
