You've been moaning that he can't pick the same team two weeks running - then you say he cannot adapt to situations? So which is it? But even then, that is one tiny facet of the enormous amount of consideration he has to put into any given situation.

Each to their own, but I am an admirer of the aesthetics of football and find our style far from boring, it can be absolutely stunning to watch at times. English style of football is entertaining, but playing football on the ground is beautiful!

Absolutely. It has worked brilliantly a few times this season especially Derby home which was incredible. If we can get a few better players to play like that more often, what a season we could have. I would love to go up to the Premier League but I don't really want to do it by playing like Stoke and hoofing the ball up to the strikers.

I don't want Gus to go, he's actually been my favourite Brighton manager. I'd love him to take us to the Premier League, and do at least one season there.

But if he goes, then onto the next era - the next man, the next campaign. It'll be exciting in itself, there will be changes, and those will inspire us as well.

There is no doubt we're heading upwards, one lucky manager will be the hero who takes us into the top flight. I hope it's Gus, but if it's another, then so be it.

I genuinely cannot believe attitudes like this. How many clubs have fans slating a manager who has taken them from bottom four in League 1 to 10th in the Championship in 2 and a half years?

For me, as I said in another thread, a lot depends on the budget Gus is given for the season. If he gets the budget he wants (or close to it) in order to progress then he will stay and Wolves won't even be considered. However, if he is limited again next season then I am sure he would consider Wolves and maybe even go there.

I realise it wouldn't be the end of the world but I would be gutted. We have a bottom half budget in this league at the moment (whatever some people may think) and he has massively over achieved this season. Given a competitive budget, I am confident we will be challenging for the top 6 next year and trust Gus to bring in the right players. He has had a year managing at this level and now knows what is needed. A new manager would have to start again and reevaluate the squad, which would put us a year behind.

The best post in this thread. If Gus went yet, I would be horrified. A new manager at this stage of our development, would probably undo all Gus and Tanno's work.

I heard from a West Ham supporter that their wage bill for this season was 33 Million !! that is what we are competing with. I still love Gus although I would like to see us play football but faster (Swansea!). It was interesting hearing Robbie Savage talking about the 2 teams promoted are the ones that have consistently played with 2 up front - still would like to see some fleexibility in the Gus way.

Poyet has done a great job with us, but I think we have seen he does have his weaknesses.

1. He has been told week in week out that the team has been lacking a championship quality keeper.
2. He keeps tinkering with the team even when it has been winning.
3. His inability to bring in a proven championship marksman.
4. Pokes a stick into a bees nest to often and gets stung ( ask Fat Sam )
5. Gets involved in matters which don't concern him and comes out looking foolish.

Please don't get me wrong, I think he's been a breath of fresh air and has managed to bring in the greatest player to ever play for the club and has got the best out of El abd and in recent weeks, Alan Navarro. I would be happy to have him stay, but should he leave there are others that would be able to eventually lead us to the premiership given the right budget and signings. I don't think that he will be offered the Wolves job.

If that is all you are after then that's fair enough,but the long term will take care of it's self-what this club needs and don't get me wrong we need to get there and the quicker the better,so a slight contradiction from me here,but what we really need is to achieve this at the right pace and to sustain long term stability at this (Championship level) at worst...
