With all due respect to Wolverhampton Wanderers, who the f*** are Wolverhampton Wanderers in the grand scheme of things? We're Brighton and Hove Albion - enough said.

I think it would be a big deal actually. Poyet is one of the best managers we've ever had and whilst there maybe plenty of "names" out there, how many would you really want? I wouldn't be complacent about it, he'll be a difficult act to follow.

Very much with this-gutted and devastated would be words of the understated if he went,it's the long term Gus is talking about and i would like to think he is a man of honour-and would want a job well done and finished-

Haven't Wolves learnt their lesson about appointing ex-Albion men as their managers?

Under achievers who happen to have had gates lower than Brighton in there recent history-

A good club,a historical club,a club that might rival Villa as that areas Number 1 in the coming years..

West west west Sussex
Lee Clark 3/1
Gus Poyet 9/2
Darren Ferguson 9/2
Steve Bruce 5/1
Paul Ince 15/2
Alan Curbishly 8/1
Gordon Strachan 10/1
Dougie Freedman 10/1
Gary Megson 10/1
Terry Connor 10/1

I reckon Ferguson is a good shout

It really wouldn't bother me that much, we'd get a cracking manager, there aren't too many jobs that
are better. I'm also getting a bit fed up of his Chelsea/Spurs illusions of grandeur.
I kind of see what you mean.
But we'd then be a Championship side requiring a manager, and if that's the short list, we're doooomed.

If he did go that would surely be the end of Vicente here.

I don't see this happening, though saying that I wouldn't be supprised if he went also. It's a bit of a weird rumour in that respect but who would we replace Poyet with if he did go? Maybe he would take Vicente with him to Wolves? I can see Vicente loving living in Wolverhampton.

As long as he takes Painter Dicker and CMS with him, won`t be that big a loss

Very much this. In my eyes they're the Pompey of The Midlands. They *think* they're a big club but in reality achieve little & live on past glories. The other obvious comparison with Pompey is the City & 'many' of their fans - Scummy.

I don't think Gus would go there. (Hopefully). It would be a sideways move at best. The fact that so many turned them down when McCarthy was canned suggests something isn't right behind the scenes.

Well not dishy Douglas that's for sure fella! I couldn't help noticing that during his post-match interview yesterday his hairline is beginning to recede significantly on the left hand side - it's got all the hallmarks of him doing a 'Pep Guardiola' one fears

Being in charge of the Barcelona D team at Shitehurst can't be easy on any man. :)

It won't be the shortlist, just trust Tony to get someone decent in.

If I were Tony I'd be immediately on the the phone to ex-Schalke manager Ralf Rangnick to get him back into football, and back to Brighton.

Pork pie land.
I see he is now the bookies favourite for the Wolves job. I wouldn't have thought he'd leave us for another Championship job?

Great! I hope he goes quickly and the next manager gets the whole summer to build a squad capable of promotion next year.

I did not like him much before yesterday, after his "end of season" acknowledgement of the fans who had gone all that way for an early kick-off match yesterday, he can't go quickly enough for me!

Not a big deal if he left as we can attract a decent manager, least a new manager might be more attack minded:D

Not sure why people blab on about being worried.

Careful what you wish for, I reckon.
Still, no matter, within 6 months, you will be moaning about the new man.

Swindon, but used to be Manila
Brighton and Hove Albion are bigger than Gus Poyet....fact.....if he decides to go then so be it..

Think of it as a stone thrown in a pond,,,,,at first there are big ripples but very soon they are gone and the pond is smooth again.

No ones job is sacred,. I agree he has been good for us, but trust Tony B...

I saw Paulo Di Canios mob (Swindon) win the League 1 yesterday.....there is a man with Passion.
