Ipswich midfielder turns down Albion
By Andy Naylor

GEORGE O'Callaghan this morning rejected a move to Albion, according to sources in Ipswich.

The 27-year-old Republic of Ireland midfielder could not agree personal terms after the clubs agreed a fee of around £60,000, rising to £75,000 depending on appearances.

The Seagulls could now switch attention to Leicester's transfer-listed Scottish midfielder Stephen Hughes ahead of the transfer window closing for permanent signings and long-term loans at midnight tomorrow.

Players might have heard of McGhee but that does'nt mean they want to play for him.

Wilkins has allready proved last season he had the ability to attract players from further away and lets not forget he also clung onto the hope of signing Whing and Forster who he eventualy got. Maybe these so called cast off's from Ipswich could prove to be the players we need to help push us up the league or would you rather we just don't bother chasing new signings at all?

Of course i'd rather we actually signed someone, i mearly pointed out that in going for the cheap option as opposed to the experienced manager, it's MUCH harder to get new players in. Compare the signings of Coppell and Wilkins. It's not hard to see is it?

Yes, money is a MAJOR factor, and the fact that Dean White is our best scout doesn't do us any favours either.

I'm not stupid - if we don't sign anyone, the standard of football will remain crap, and we'll struggle this season. Sadly, i think the combination of above factors make it BLOODY hard to do this!

Because another Coppell is well easy to find.

FOR f*** SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will you spastic fucks stop comparing current managers with every other manager from the past 10 years! They are all different, are managing in different circumstances and should be taken on their merits.

No you clown - i'm comparing the experienced manager to the rookie. (McGhee i can't really use, as by the time he'd ruined the dressing room, nobody wanted to play for him)

I'm not expecting us to find another Premier League manager, but someone who's been around the leagues and actually KNOWS people would be nice.

You're the only tosser here, f***ing moan moan moan. Sometimes it's funny but when you bang on about stuff that is blatantly not true it's f***ing anoying. Wilkins has managed to get players in on loan and signed some decent players.

How do you think a manager gets experienced? Usually by a club giving him a chance so why don't you just wait and see what Wilkins can do rather than boring us all with your constant moaning about this used to be better and that manager knew more you cockend.

What do you base this assumption on? The fact we are going after three Ipswich players? Perhaps it is just that they are three good players.
The fact that often on away trips we allowed by other clubs to use their training facilities seems to suggest that we KNOW people.

Well done Dave with raising the hopes of the extremely naive members on this board again, with your pre-meditated lies.

Well it seems according to all the sources available that the deal is not completely dead. Also as the website has nothing on it I'm pressuming that Deano is working his ass off to maybe complete not one but two midfield generals and maybe a loanie by tomorrow.I will suprised if we don't get anyone considering the fact that Falmer is nearly here and also the fact that investment from the Blooms, because of this, is imminent.
