Homophobic Derby Fans banned

There's a big difference between 'we can see you holding hands' and using words like 'f@ggots' and making references to HIV, and the offenders were rightly punished (although three years is a tad harsh IMO).

It's like us chanting about flatcaps and whippets in Lancashire - banter - and shouting 'town full of Pakis' - unacceptable.

EDIT: Why is the word 'f@ggot' censored on NSC, but 'Pakis' not? Something you want to tell us, mods?

Arthur & pretty pink fairy, you haven't got a clue what happened. Liz Costa was absolutely nothing to do with this, so why have a go at someone who doesn't use this forum to have a right of reply? You think it's ok to slag off someone who wasn't there? Stop hiding behind your anonymity to be bitchy about other fans.

The two Derby fans were arrested for a Public Order Act offence. They were behaving aggressively as well as the things that they shouted out. They would probably have been arrested for their behaviour but the obscenities were the icing on the cake for the police.
It was not in the stadium for chanting but outside where there were crowds of fans with children.

The blokes concerned admitted it and pleaded guilty. Why do some Brighton fans feel the need to stand up for them?
hold on! never said she was anything to do with the arrests ???, what i'm suggesting is that she and her clique may be have had an influence in instigating some sort of reaction to claims of homophobic chanting:rolleyes: hope that clears things up

2 or 3 fans representing about 500 in one football club have had an influence over the judicial system? Martin Perry was working with the FA 4 or 5 years ago with regards to homophobia in football. The survey that the Supporters club did last season was done to help highlight it from our point of view.
Football banning orders have been in place for years so it isn't something that the police/clubs have been told to apply for since last season. It's a far bigger picture than that.

Everytime there is a thread about Homophobia you jump on it. I really have not read all the sh*t you have written this time about the subject, but I don't really need to.

You come across as a bit of a **nt which leads me to believe, in real life, you probably are.

I THINK YOU'VE MADE MY POINT,IT'S A SMALL MINORITY , you keep banging on about the judicial side that's got nothing to do with my argument, what i'm saying is that it appears a small minority have had an input which may not reflect the feelings of the majority of fans at this club SOUNDS LIKE A BIT OF A CLOSED SHOP TO ME ???

I explained that earlier but some people are deaf to the truth and are only interested in their own agenda.

So what of your reference to basing supposed facts on other peoples opinions? A bit like you using Wikipedia........

Why not say that a 3rd time. It'll make no more sense though.

I haven't reacted but posted facts. I fail to see how they had any influence.

Seems a bit over the top to me ... if they were being violent/intimidating yes but every away game we get the usual chants and just laugh it off with our own retorts, seems political madness now overtaking football

Also after the Palarse play-off match whilst waiting in the bus queue we had a good 45 minutes of homophobic singing whilst they were held behind but I suppose because there were 2000 they are allowed because no one ever mentions that ???

It was not a chant or part of chanting.

But Wiki is not factual, Joe Public can edit it,but you choose to quote from it? Two faced argument from yourself I say.

Nor did Fairy post facts, he believes that Costa Club comments in the media have encouraged more bedwetters to come out of the woodwork, I think he has a valid point. Do you think that a 3 year football banning order is appropriate for what could be judged to be somewhere between banter and abuse whilst the same actions on West Street would result in just a fine? Not law, just your opinion......
