This all stinks of the manager being unwilling or unable to develop Ferguson into the system he wants to play. If he's got long term niggling injuries why would any prem club pay a prem price for him.

It's a big assumption but there you go.

Losing Julio was disconcerting, losing Evan would be genuinely saddening and maddening.

We’re talking about two players who potentially have very high ceilings - one so talented with the ball at his feet he got people out of their seats and (with strong man management) could be a world class talent… the other a deadly finisher, IF permitted to be on the end of fluid moves…

I’m not sure what’s going wrong, but something is OFF and it would appear players who were looking certs for BIG moves (proving our model continues to flourish) are going backwards, so backwards they’re willingly moonwalking out of the Amex to the likes of Ipswich.

Now, I’m no in the know tea lady spy conduit, BUT it would seem young Fabian is maybe just maybe not handling our young stars too well… the process seems flawed, Lewis Dunk seems to have aged about 10 years since the summer, sporting frown lines so pronounced I’d suggest he’s he’s not a fan of the Hurzeler jib… yet, in spite of all of this speculation based on Lewis not smiling very much (ahem) the club seem right behind our young coach… it’s a f***ing puzzler alright.

I’m not sure what to think tbh, and if the process even exists ?!? Although it would seem spunking out our talented starlets to PL rivals is central to it hmmmmmmmm

It’s not great, I don’t feel comfortable at all… 😶
I tend agree with this. There seems something not right at the moment. There seems to be a few rumours / theories flying around and there is usually some smoke to the fire!!!

I think that possibly included his goals against Grimsby, to be fair.

And besides, he has done nothing since for 18 months, so it's quite subjective to consider whether or not he's proved himself. Certainly not as clear cut as the case of Aaron

Hurzeler will see the end of the season.

We would have to go on a monumentally bad run (which we won’t) for Hurzeler to be sacked before then.
Reread what I wrote. I said end of NEXT season.

If Welbeck is a good option for us tactically, then (with some coaching) so is Ferguson. So I say keep him, ease him back into the team, and give him the time/space to rediscover form here. Welbeck will eventually slow down or retire, and Pedro may get sold for big money, so it would be so foolish to let another striker option walk out the door.

If we do let Evan go then we have to bring someone in. As long as night follows day if we don’t then Welbz gets injured around the middle of Feb. We’ve all seen this movie before.
We have. He was injured in Dec/Jan at same time as Ferguson. Hurzeler just played Pedro and Rutter instead.

I think the club thought that Evan was our mid-term main striker and save us £40m+ in spend, plus would also be the next £100m+ sale in 2/3 years time. So did most of us. The NSC new striker threads even dried up!

It’s not working, that injury EF picked up at f***ing Chelsea is starting to look career changing, the majority of that £200m on wingers/ACMs and none of it on a number 9 is starting to look like a mistake.
