But genuine question, how is this:

Brighton are also open to the possibility of selling Ferguson at the right price if the circumstances suit both the club and the player.” which is what Naylor actually said in his article

different to anything TB and PB have always said?

Whenever PB has done podcasts he has repeatedly trotted out the same line in general when talking about selling players/big clubs swooping in and says the Club’s policy has always been to be open to selling players if the price is right and the player wants to leave.

We don’t know that Evan has said he wants to leave and we don’t know the amount that the club would be willing to sell for if he did - there’s a lot of speculation on a paucity of actual information is all.
Yes it is different. The club’s usual line also includes “if the time is right”. From Naylor’s post it seems the time is right, so if a club comes up with the right money he’ll most likely leave.

So you are saying Ferguson has likely asked to leave the Club permanently when we were only the past few weeks talking about a loan only?

We don’t get any benefit. The man that has been putting his hand into his deep pockets to financially support the Albion from Withdean days gets some of his money back.

I say we get no benefit, but we get the benefit of not being owned by foreign investors with no previous affiliation as a result of this strategy.
Tony Bloom also benefits from him scoring goals and getting a bigger fee. I know Tony Bloom has put a lot of money into the club, but I fail to see how the fact we used to play at withdean has anything to do with selling Evan Ferguson, we aren’t struggling league one team anymore, we’re a team with Long Term aspiration of Europe. Strengthening a rival with a potentially top player who could score goals for us would have no benefit to the club whatsoever. Yes it could stop us being bought by Saudi investors or whatever but there has to be a strategy in how we can build on this success, to go up the league. I just don’t think that selling Evan Ferguson this early, will help us.

Naylor isn't into clickbait. The club wanted the message out there.

You might be right but at 20 it’s too early to write him off. The lack of news makes us speculate about his fitness and health but maybe the club realise they have a gem and are protecting him ……. Or maybe not. I guess we’ll learn more with what happens in the next week or so. Unfortunately for Evan, FH seems to like mobile, technical, interchangeable players who attack from wide positions. Evan feeds off the quality of other players, however in his more recent games he was bullied by defenders who got to the ball before him.

He’ll learn but need someone to learn from. Zamora?
You’re right about what FH seems to want. But on that basis we wouldn’t want Haaland. There’s a good player there and he’ll flourish in a system that suits him. He’d do really well in the Chris Wood role at Forest for example.

I’m sure if TB was that interested in recouping money he wouldn’t have spent so much in the summer.

Nope. I have no idea if Ferguson has actually asked to leave the club.

Come on, it's bloody stupid no matter how you look at it. He's meant to be managing a top 10, European chasing side and he plays a CB up top, it's the stuff of Mark Mcghee in League 1 (much as I love the guy).
For the last five minutes when we are chasing the game….not looking as if we would create much …against that type of defence …it’s desperate I’ll give you that ….but not unknown …..if he’d done that with half n hour to go….its a different matter imo
