See commanders post below yours , unless you're trying to tell me that every single asylum seeker to this country is a doctor condemned to working as a cleaner ?

No, not at all. Some might be. Others will be petty criminals and chancers. Mostly they'll be ordinary people looking to better themselves.

I'm still right though, that in relation to the entire population of Uganda, the ones who have found the means to emigrate to Europe will be better educated. I fail to see how you could possibly contridict that, but I guess you will anyway.

So if you pay rent, you do not expect a say in the service that the landlord provides for you? "Please come and fix the burst pipe?" "No, piss off, I am going to buy a new Ferrari instead" Is that fair? I would imagine that if the landlord were a foreign national and it happened to you, we would hear all about it on here!!

You will never experience it because you live in a country that generally does not disenfranchise people who contribute financially to the running of the country. I also suspect, but am happy to be proved wrong, that you would never think about living in a foreign country. Unless, you think you are living in one now!

Any service that you pay for should give you rights. Anyone that is paying for a government provided service, should have the right to vote how that government is made up and, therefore, how that money is spent. A basic principal of democracy, one would have thought. Certainly part of the British sense of fair play.
I would expect you to say , "f*** this i'm off" if you didnt like what was on offer, nobody is making you stay in the empty flat that you decided to pitch up in , and the landlord said ok, i didnt ask you to come and occupy it, but since your here you can give me a few quid for it, as for this british sense of fair play bollocks , we're in a very nasty world and its the 21st century, not the playing fields of eton in the 19th.

That was a twisting of the situation by London Irish proportions ha ha

Yes, I adjusted my post when I had a think about it but I still think one could take that picture in a number of ways, as I believe was Commander's Intention.

That really doesn't relate to his post at all. What's the matter with you man? You live in a different world Bushy and it seems an angry and intolerant world of the Raj.

I think Commander's sole intention was to SHOW OFF that he'd been on a SWANKY holiday, and taken some cool snaps (with the help no doubt, of some illiterate goatherder-type guides). I love the brilliantly imaginative title, he's given his photo, btw.

Yes, I would say that, but not having a vote here is not really a factor in deciding to stay or not as far as I am concerned, anyway.

But I thought that the British sense of fair play was all the British had left?! :lolol:

How are your parents, by the way?

There more 2nd/3rd generations of Scots in England than Scots in Scotland does this mean we can send them home and will we have to repair Hadrian's wall and introduce passport control! On the boarder crossings?

I would suggest that it says more about you, if you genuinely thought that was what I was doing.

HKFC nails it. As soon as I saw the word 'Uganda' on about page 4 I saw the opportunity to boast, and I couldn't resist it.

Alex Salmond can f*** off, let Scotland leave if they want to.

It concerns me that Scottish Independence will strengthen the Tory position in England but other than that I have no real problem with it. However I think the Scottish will have a number of problems if they vote Yes.

Dodgy Dave knows that with all those Labour MPs in Scottish constituencies taken out of the equation he won't have to depend on the LibDems and Nasty Nick.

Exactly. He's playing a blatant game to strengthen his position.

Got any pictures of Gorillas herding goats?

Whilst it is tempting to post the picture I have of some local villagers herding goats in response to that just to watch the board go into meltdown, I'm not drunk yet.

So no.

They may well be "ordinary people looking to better themselves" but then that will be in the Ugandan sense. In this context compared to the UK they will also be more likely to have Aids, hepatitus B and TB.

They will certainly better themselves by having access to the NHS given the desperate level of healthcare in Uganda.

Healthcare a major challenge for Uganda | Katine | guardian.co.uk

But then maybe that's because many of their Doctors are filled with the capitalist spirit thus leaving their own country folk to cough themselves into an early grave. Inspiring people.

Then again maybe the Doctor's there are not that qualified either, as this article confirms.

The Observer - How Uganda is losing battle against AIDs

Little wonder that Aids is out of control there when circumcision is seen as a prevention method:

"Circumcision remains one of the HIV prevention methods and we call forward the public to come and support it. I want to add that protection is in men and not women. Those who are circumcised and are HIV positive can still infect women," Dr Ondoa said.

Let's hope Dr Ondoa stays in Uganda, if this is advice on Aids prevention the locals may as well go and see a local goat herder.
