To be fair, I did all that and I also get pissed off at your kneejerk reaction to a loss or a bad spell when you 'immediatly goes berzerk spouting shit' to quote our Swedish friend.

Just for balance, like.

Not only are you more entitled to that opinion, you also don't spend your whole life smugly bouncing threads with dust on them just to get a reaction and fill your day, do you?

GAH! That's exactly that LAST thing I was aiming to do. Bloke's far more of a chancer than GP is. At least GP has succeeded in making a silk purse out of a sow's ear of a career, and secured his family's future. Genuinely happy for the guy. DA? Not so much. WAY too many Yes Men more than happy to take the chairman's shilling IMHO

You're not the one who bounced this thread.

Surely you have to give Swan a bit of a break with regards not knowing our detailed history yet.

We even have young Brightonian fans who weren’t around in those days.

I'm quite happy to give Swanny a break if he doesn't lay into Brighton fans calling them narcissists.

Wow!

You have no idea what fans did between 1997 and 2009 when Tony Bloom took over from Dick Knight, to keep this club alive.

Of course I am aware and I think it is a fantastic thing, surpassing both football and the club itself - since you could watch that struggle on several metaphorical and ideological levels (the beaten dog finally biting back). And I would have loved to be part of that but unfortunately I was young and Swedish. But my fascination and appreciation of that collective effort does not mean that I will treat every single participating individual as some untouchable hero. The things you guys did does not change my perception that it is frankly nauseating to attack staff and players at the club over and over and over again just because they make a mistake in a game or cant find you some Messiah.

It's a message board. People post during the heat of a match, or when they get home and have had a few beers. People get fed up with a few poor results and can't see the team managing to get out of a rut.
Hindsight is 20/20 vision but to villify people for having an opinion because it doesn't tally with yours by accusing them of ;attacking staff', is nonsense.

If it is so nauseating, then put the appropriate people on ignore, or don't log in for a few days.

As for being awarre of our fight for survival, don't dismiss it, with your platitudes.

Have you considered that calling GB a rude, aggressive narcissist is unlikely to persuade him that he should be more moderate in his criticisms of people at the club?

Here's how I see the pattern from a couple of posters:-

'I want to be loved by everybody, mine is the only voice that really understands'.
'What do you mean not everybody loves me'.
'I want to be loved by everybody, mine is the only voice that really understands'.
'I don't care if we're all singing from roughly the same song sheet'.
'I want to be loved by everyone, mine is the only voice that really understands'.
'If you don't love my every word I'm going to prove how wrong you are'.
'I want to be loved by everybody, mine is the only voice that really understands'.
'They hate me more'
'I want to be loved by everybody, mine is the only voice that really understands'
'I show them...'.

I just saw that. I think you should both drop it.

Related, should I unblock V? I quite liked his posts before recent events.

There are a couple I had on ignore during the Brexit bollocks I've now unblocked. We can all be dicks from time to time

Personally, I'd unblock.

I have never blocked anyone on NSC (although, as you and I know, the temptation has been very high). I like to take into account every viewpoint - and then ignore it :)

What does that post even MEAN? Why would you even bother posting that?

Jesus wept.

I believe the hierarchy at the club is a collaborative effort.
So to single out DA for praise is wrong.

That is of course unless you're not actually singling out DA for praise at all.
In fact you have another completely different agenda entirely, that requires searching for an old thread and digging out posters.

In fairness to the poster who has singled out DA for praise they do appear to have got everything they wished for, so I guess he can't be chastised for that.

Losing in football or life feels shit, but there is no law of nature saying that you have to convert that feeling into a blame game... self-hatred, even self-pity, is beautiful, the way to go in those circumstances.

Have you considered that calling GB a rude, aggressive narcissist is unlikely to persuade him that he should be more moderate in his criticisms of people at the club?

Yes I've considered it, but I dont know.

Here is the pattern of one single poster:

"I dont know what I want and no one including myself understands my voice".

I'm really struggling to keep track of all the arguments going on in this thread.

Me too

I just popped in to see what all the noise is about and it's like scene from a Western saloon bar brawl...

I think I'll just slip out quietly and trot across to Predict Potter's Picks.

Its in a dead end and should probably stay there.

It reminds me a bit of an exchange you and I had a while back, about being involved in the troubles in the 90s. I'm a little bit torn, because I do feel like you're making a fair point about those times not being a justifiable excuse for knee-jerk behavior currently. I've been around the club for a long period of time but it doesn't mean my opinion matters more than yours, or that the justification for my opinion is more reasonable than yours. I do think people are too quick to dismiss others who come in with a new and fresh perspective, especially if (and I say this with all respect!) they are a mixture of extraordinarily interesting, bonkers beyond belief and actually insightful!
