Yes, me too....

The whole lucky wins as well. There is nothing wrong with a team that defends, it served Italian football quite well, won Arsenal championships. Ultimately you get what you deserve.

We were poor towards the end, but we weren’t earlier in the season.

Injuries played a big part we lost Jose for the season against Palace who was becoming a big player for us allowing us to play on the break on either flank. Even then we needed a Murray replacement and it still hasn’t happened.

Well, this is interesting.....

A certain Dan Ashworth got a mention in the Albion programme against Peterborough on Nov 21 2001 (page 15):-

What an honour for Dan Ashworth, there were some incredibly respectful tributes paid to him from some top people.
Tony has done brilliantly to recruit the Three Musketeers of Ashworth, Barber and Potter all to The Amex.

He is an integral part of the club set up who will dictate the strategic planning of footballing development. I also expect he will be here for a very long time, bigger clubs will not put their trust in the academy production line so the temptation to move on to somewhere bigger would mean having less of an impact on player development.

I wonder if TB went this route kind of knowing the player market would implode as its ultimately unsustainable, particularly for middle ground/size clubs with aspirations . . . . obviously a world pandemic wasn't likely on his check list . . . but with yoof breaking through and assets in the squad, striker aside, we're better positioned than many clubs.

As people analyse why England are much better now they seem to arrive at the same conclusion. A crucial appointment almost a decade ago. Read this and tell me that you don’t see this being replicated as much as possible for us.

I was thinking about this yesterday. I wonder if watching England, Ashworth has any regrets about leaving?

I for one am very glad he did, we are lucky to have him. Still can't believe we managed to get him, there are a lot of much larger clubs who must look on at us enviously.

Nice read. Notice in that article how the FA set what seemed a ridiculous target at the time (to reach semis of the Euros and to win a World Cup). There’s a reason people and teams who succeed set long term stretch goals.

Food for thought for those who scoff at Tony’s goal for the Albion being a top 10 team.

Dunno. I agree with the gentlemen on the first page.

Since DA joined:
- The world suffered a massive pandemic.
- Diego Maradona, as well as some other people, died.
- They've started to build another boring building out of steel & glass where I used to take a piss when I couldnt bother to queue for the toilet at Café Ariman
+ several other bad, bad things.

Needs to go.

Well one things for sure, if Dan can have an impact at Albion as he has done at England we can be in for a very exciting future.

Exactly what I was just thinking after reading that DM article.

That, and how bloody annoying it is to try and read an article split into 100 sections with dozens of adverts between each one.
