Another valueless thread designed to worship Kuipers and hound another keep out of the club....

Everytime a cross or corner came over I didnt have my heart in mouth in expectation of a goal but admitted he could have done better with a couple of punches but hey he kept a clean sheet, for whatever reason, and that is the aim of a keeper so he was a success and deserves to keep the jersey.

BG, there will come a game where even you will see what anyone who has seen more than 4 games of Brezovan knows, that he's not a long term #1. Why do you think he kept being dropped for Swindon last season, and the season before, and the season before that? He was in and out of their side for a very good reason, and he was released in the summer for a similarly good reason. At some point you, and everyone else, will see for yourselves that he's not very good and that Michel is a much better goalkeeper than he is, and Michel WILL be back at #1 by the end of january (at the latest).

Well maybe once he has a bad game, these comments will be founded.

Are you suggesting he didn't have a bad game when we beat Swindon 3-0 at the County Ground in 2007? Or how about the 2-0 last year at their place? Or maybe the 2-1 Albion win at Withdean in 2008, with Forster scoring from 25 yards? Or how about when Swindon lost 3-2 to QPR (which I was there for), you won't have seen that one but he was truly incredible that night and had Maurice Malpas been a stronger manager, he would have hauled him off. My point, mr onesmith, is that I HAVE seen him have bad games and any Brighton fan who has seen our games with Swindon over the last couple of years has aswell.

Or does he become a new person for joining Brighton?

Well so far he's played 4 decent games- not all of us have dual loyalties to Swindon, and we are judging what he achieves for Brighton and under Poyet.

Players are able to dramatically change, you know. Look at Bas Savage joining us in 2007- from what you say above, he wouldn't have scored the hat-full of goals for us as that he did, because his scoring record previously was something like 9 in 61..

I'm pretty sure Kuiper has had a few bad games for us, does that make him a bad keeper?

I don't think Brezovan is a talented amateur, I believe that the club pays him for his services.

So did Dagenham and Redbridge.

I'd like to see more of Smith before writing him off completely, he was #1 for Motherwell for 3 years for a reason, afterall. Certainly, we're not better off with Brezovan as a number 2.

Smith is a dead loss. If you watch Scottish football at all you will see that the standard is extremely poor(the Hibs goalie in today's game was laughable).Brezovan has certainly done the rounds and is no world beater, but Smith........well, Smith should be excused further humiliation and be loaned to Montrose or somewhere if anyone will have him. It's FDM until a better man is signed.

Feel free to update after today's performance. I wasn't there, but no doubt many of you were and will have an opinion.

Made a mistake today but looked ok still, I like the look of him myself. (ie, I'm not one of those who hounds out every goalkeeper who isn't Kuipers)

a couple of standard catches/saves in 2nd half but first half error would be an insult to a school boy if called a school boy error.

I was embarrassed by that awful howler for their second goal. Dreadful, just dreadful. He seems a nice bloke and as he crept off at the end I could see he had lost all confidence. Michel has to come back. He is our best keeper.
