And who is going to force them?
Police authorities, police and crime commissioners, local councils - there are alot of mechanisms available.

And just remember that when ed balls tried to sack the council officer responsible for social services in Haringey for the baby p scandal (Sharon shoesmith) she won a payout because the decision hadn't been taken by local government but by national government acting ultra vires

As a day to day guide, I try not to listen to badenoch, she is a moron and did nothing whilst in a position to do so for the victims or any of the recommendations.

From what the media has said the report was an overall look into different sectors of child abuse and not just the grooming gangs, as a country we need to know what's happened to stop it happening again and get justice for the victims.

Tories are just embarrassing themselves with how they are using this to score points, but that doesn't stop the need for a full inquiry to find out what's gone on.

Perfect chance for Starmer to throw someone under the bus for the poor start, reverse the WFA decision whilst they look at a better way to do it etc.
Too right ....and yet there seem to be some against this purely based on there own political allegiances

So if you think the police, judiciary , councils, govt are all complicit then who do you recommend should bring these people to account? A lynch mob with flaming torches? Ant and Dec via a variety show? Simon Cowell with a public vote?

Well they all did
No they didn't. They voted against an amendment that was not linked to the legislation that would have killed the legislation aimed to protecting vulnerable children stone dead.

I'm beginning to think people should have to answer a test on how government and parliament works before being allowed to vote and comment.

I wonder how many votes from the ethnic groups the Labour Party would lose with your suggestion

…oooh get you …I know exactly what the vote was on sunshine…..and when it comes down to it they enforced the whip to make sure every single one of them voted against the amendment…..run your own board if you think we need to pass a test before commenting …grief

Couldn't give a monkey's - generally though the standard of education and exam rates amongst ethnic groups are higher than some parts of white Anglo saxon society

If you knew what the vote was for then how did you make such a frankly daft conflation that voting to protect a bill to protect vulnerable children was in some way an evil attempt to protect vile perverts from grooming young people

You said you knew what the vote was for. However your post indicated you didn't. So you either knew and then deliberately ignored that to make a political point. Or you didn't know and are now claiming you did

It was never going to kill the legislation as it was never going to pass due to the huge majority Labour have. The amendment was just symbolic and political point scoring.
