Just checked in before bedtime to see this awful news.
I've know roy since those late 70's days but moreso when the 'troubles' were on and in the latter years it was just a pleasure to see him out with his beloved dog, Kitty and he's just pull up a stool in the Star and chat away to anyone. An...
What get's me, and is the change since we moved to the Amex, is the Corporate Thinking that makes the decision that we can give these mugs this shit and they'll pay for it.
Three years ago it was more a case of giving our loyal fans the best choice of food and drink at a football ground...
That's one of the reasons I traipsed out to the Amex on sat morning, because I couldn't find 3 seats together (and they've made the seating plan less clear online too, white dots on blue were easy so why change?)
I think the north was way less that a third full so what's the explanation?
So, knowing it would be harder for people to read, you went ahead and done it anyway? Suits the club, sod the customer. Bit like closing the Queens road ticket office.
This is the 3rd season of catering at the Amex. new caterers or not, they know the criteria and standard expected.
The prices have gone up on day 1, how many matches are we expected to wait for the standard to match the price? That hot dog looked awful and very basic. My grandson had one, I had...
No hot food just before 7.00 in the WSL nearest North end.
All these sackings/new contracts/higher prices etc were, I thought, leading us to a more professional outfit but the whole off the pitch experience in regards ticket sales, advertising and catering has been a farce and whilst it may be...
A lot of those tickets would have been bought earlier if Queens Road had been open. I work near the shop but had to wait for a non working day to call up to the Amex. My time, my money, my expence and a hefty booking fee to boot.
I don't think they needed a dedicated member of staff, they could work in the shop the rest of the time.
Brighton centre is teaming with tourists and we have a large frontage on Queens Road yet you'll find no posters advertising games. Can you imagine a theatre/cinema or club being so...
Was there about 10.30 today and just one poor fella serving plus the printer had broken so tickets were being printed upstairs and somebody had to being them down. I was about 3rd in line must have been more than a dozen behind me by the time I got served.
I work quite near Queens road so...
I work near the shop in Queens Road and so many have said that they would have gone if they could have popped down to the ticket office but travelling all the way out to the Amex, making phones calls or registering to do online are not the ways to attract the casual fan, or even the many...
I think the City Centre shop is the one good thing to come out of the bellotti era and find it hard to believe that the club cannot see the market of a town full of tourists, many would like to go to a match but are probably blissfully unaware that we even have a team.
No games are advertised...
