Prices to Dublin are stupid money for some reason. A company I used to work in the past used to fly someone over to Dublin from Gatwick and back on Ryanair every day just to courier letters and stuff from London to the Dublin office. It was cheaper to do that than send the stuff by courier!
Butters isn't getting any younger, and Hinshelwood now has dodgy knees. Lynch is more likely to be sold in the summer than stay, so some cover at centre back is good planning I reckon.
I reckon Mayo would be a good centre back if we need to keep a bit of experience in the back four.
If we can put some decent crosses into the box from the wings I think he will cause problems. Just lumping the ball up to him and hoping he'll control it, hold it up, then pass it to one of our players is asking a lot for even Premiership class striker!
The key to getting the most out of him...
Liam Brady seemed to get the best out of him during his time at the club. He was indeed a player with immense potential, but his attitiude just wasn't right for being a professional footballer.
looks like the ugly side of Italian football is back in the news again. A police officer was killed tonight during rioting at a match when an explosive device was thrown during fighting between supporters.
A Gillingham fan I work with was a little bit gutted to hear he'd walked out to sign for us. His assessment of the player was that he had shown signs in the past few games of developing into a useful player, from his initial poor start. His commitment and effort is 110%, but his application of...
Now is a particulary good time for any of you budding photographers to pop upto Falmer at the weekend and get some snaps of the stadium site, Uni buildings and the building site for the new student halls. This time of the year when the trees have no leaves means that even more bricks, concrete...
Prehaps Hull will dip into the transfer market to buy themselves a new stiker tomorrow. If they do it might mean they will let Forster go? Then again maybe we are jst destined not to sign our proven experienced striker for another season.
Bristol Rovers V Bristol City always used to be a bit fiesty. It is the classic North v South of the city ruck, with the town centre bars & clubs right in the middle of the battle ground. Watched a few games in the 90's whilst at university and it was interesting to say the least!
I guess we would take over his contract till the end of the season. Good news IF it happens. Bowditch would be a great signing as well if fit, but we still need that experienced, hold the ball up, striker.
Wilkins comments in the Argus about the Swedish trialist from the other day sums it up...
"He's a front player," said Wilkins. "He got offered to us, the agent brought him over and we've just decided we've got to have a look. Beggars can't be choosers, we've got to try to do something."

It could have had a brand spanking new stand along the main raod side, but our friends at Crawley council weren't interested in the Albion ground sharing. So Withdean it was!
I see Bristol Rovers have got permission to re-develop the Memorial Ground into a 18,000 capacity stadium. Its only costing the £16million, and will take only a year to build. It will be ready in 2009.
An interesting point to note is that the development is being part funded by a hotel...
